Re: being able to select messages on the mac
Hi, How about printing it to pdf. When the message thread has focus, go to the File menu, down to Print, and in the Print dialog, locate the PDF menu item, VO-space on it and select Save to PDF. You can then give it a title and choose the location where you'd prefer to save it and you're good to go. In my world, this is even better, as you can use it to keep track of the entire conversation so that it can be considered in proper context. Later... Re: text messages on the mac
OK, a few things. I've not admittedly been following this thread too closely, but as for the send voice button, if you hit vo+space on it, then speak. When done, VO+Space again to stop recording. Then, navigate to the send button, and hit vo+Space. If you're sending just a normal text based SMS or IMessage, then just hit return to send off your message. As for what Ben told you with the asending and descending tone, that can be changed within the preferences of the Messages app simply by openning up the app on the mac, then hitting command+Comma. I'm not totally sure where the setting is in there, so it may take a small bit of pecking around, but I assure you, it's there and will be incredibly obvious when you see it. Hi, For seeing all the messages between you and that individual, you need to Interact with the HTML area after making sure the specific conversation is selected from within the Conversations Table. Two Unrelated Issues: Messages on the Mac not working correctly and how do I get rid of a huge block of "reply to" recipients in my contacts list
Howdy all. I have a MacBook with Mountain Lion, and I cannot read my messages on it. It tells me, for example, that I have two unread messages, but I can't find them. they are on my iPhone, but I cannot get to them on the Mac. All Messages does on the Mac is put me in a position to compose or add a recipient, not to read anything. As to my contacts list, I have a ridiculous amount of "contacts" which consist of "reply to" recipients, such as Facebook replies. How can I: a. get rid of them all at once, and b. prevent such addresses from being saved as contacts in the first place? Thanks. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: Temporarily disabling Messages on the mac
I went in and went to preferences, and located the gmail or apple Id that I have messages sent too on the mac, and unchecked it, and clicked disable account. When I want to restart it, I reverse the process. Hope that helps. Thanks. Temporarily disabling Messages on the mac
OK, so, with Mountain Lion, is there an easy way that I can temporarily disable Messages on my mac? Basically I have a text message which might get sent to my IPhone phone number, which through IMessage, I have linked to my Messages app on the mac. Due to privacy reasons, I don't want Messages getting launched when the text arrives, and Alex blerting out the content of the message. So temporarily, at least for a few hours, I'd like to disable my IMessage on the mac so that if I am texted, it won't even see it on the o s x side of things, but only would see it on my IPhone. Is this possible to do? Chris Gilland.
