Re: page up and page down on the mac

2017-03-10 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Simon,

FN-Up Arrow and FN-Down Arrow are indeed the equivalents to the Page Up and
Page Down keys on an extended keyboard, but they do not move any cursors. They
are purely visual effects and therefore useless to a VoiceOver user.
Adding the VO keys makes them move the VO cursor in applications such as Pages
and TextEdit, but you have to be interacting with the text area.

Cheers,

Anne

RE: page up and page down on the mac

2017-03-10 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Candy,

When doing page up or page down, just use function key and up arrow or down
arrow on your keyboard,

The function key vo key combo with arrow up or down is what's causing your
ding
Drop the vo keys.

I am still having difficulty going up and down a page on the mac. For example
when I'm reading through a long email and want to move down by page, I press
the function key along with the vo keys and down arrow, and all I hear is a
beep and nothing happens. The left and right arrow keys will move the cursor to
home and end just fine. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue? It is time
consuming to move through a long email or document by lines.

Hi,

Try using FN-VO-shift-down to read the next paragraph. Depending on your
keyboard settings, you may or may not need the FN key.

The page up and page down commands don’t appear to work in emails. However, if
you interact with the text, the other VO commands will work. With Quick Nav on,
you can set the rotor to Paragraphs and only have to press the down arrow.

page up and page down on the mac

2017-03-08 Thread Candie Stiles
I am still having difficulty going up and down a page on the mac. For example
when I'm reading through a long email and want to move down by page, I press
the function key along with the vo keys and down arrow, and all I hear is a
beep and nothing happens. The left and right arrow keys will move the cursor to
home and end just fine. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue? It is time
consuming to move through a long email or document by lines.
