Joseph, Permissions are repaired automatically without you having to do anything at all. While permissions are being repaired, if you vo+arrow round the area, you will result table. When you interact with it, you can see what is being repaired - not that I understand it. It is good practice to repair permissions every so often, especially after installing or removing applications or software update. I don't quite understand the difference other than "repair permissions" seems to have something to do with the bits of software knowing where all the other bits are, and repair disk may have something to do with the sectors on the disk within which information is written. But I may be talking rubbish.
