What is PRAM? was safari sluggish and slow

2009-09-06 Thread James Nash

If this doesn't fix your problem, you should try zapping the PRAM

What is this feature please?

Thanks

Take care

There are several things you can do. First, repair disk permissions.
Press Command-Shift-u to go to the Utilities folder, then press dis
 for Disk Utility.
Select your internal hard drive in the list, then navigate right to
First Aid. Select that, then press VO-Space bar on Repair Disk
 Permissions.
This can take several minutes, but it is something you should do every
time you install a new application.

If this doesn't fix your problem, you should try zapping the PRAM. To
 do this:
Shut down your computer, then hold down Command-Option-p-r and keeping
them held down, press the Power key and let it go. Keep the other four
keys held down until you have heard the startup chime four times, then
 let the machine boot normally.

Ask again if you need more help.

 Cheers,

 Anne

The PRAM is the Parameter RAM, and contains such information as the
system output sound volume. It's stable across boots and zapping it
sets it back to its default values.

Cheers,

Anne
