A Trillian question
Hi all, I use the Trillian app from the Mac App Store to chat with my Facebook contacts, and in general it works quite well. I am having a problem figuring out how to change my status (e.g. from “away” to “available). I’ve literally looked everywhere I can think of within the app and can view my status, but can’t figure out how to change it. Do any experienced Trillian users know the answer to this? Thanks! Kliph, do you have 2 factor authentication enabled on your google account? If so you’ll need to set up a one time application password for the app as it doesn’t support 2 factor directly. I have Go for facebook, but the thing is that sighted can use Trillian as a facebook client in its own right and the interface is much nicer than say Go or Menutab and the modifications necessary for us to be able to use that interface that Trillian has, are quite small, i believe so i don’t know why they don’t fix it. /Krister > 29 feb. 2016 kl. 09:38 skrev Shawn Krasniuk : > > Hi. Re: Trillian Has Broken Accessibility
I don't think being angry about things and attacking them is the way to go. That said, I do understand your anger. I, like you, hate it when companies think eye candy is the way to go, so therefore break things. Though it's tempting for me to publicly on Twitter attack them for this, I'm not gonna do so. I'll write them, yes, but not disrespectfully. What if they truly don't know that what they did broke things. For all we know, Trillion on the mac has been accessible for quite some time, so perhaps this wasn't something they meant to have happen, and if we let them know, they might be willing to fix it. Now, that said, if they then get unreasonable with us, and start not cooperating, then? our anger attacks will be warranted. I'd not go quite to that level just quite yet though. Re: Trillian help.
Go to your menu bar with vo+M. Vo+right arrow over to the window menu. VO+down arrow to open the menu. See in there if there is a main window, or contacts, or something to that effect. You've probably accidentally hidden the main contact trillion window. When you say the conversation window, I presume you're referring to where you type an IM message to a particular contact. No offense, but seriously. Explore your menu bar, etc. You'll find a ton of power there, as well as in your vo+shift+M context menu. If you need any further help, it is during business hours, so just let me know if you need to set up a personalized support insident. Re: trillian
Shawn, Honestly, that would be exactly what I'd use it for. I wouldn't want it for my entire news feed/notifications/comments on posts. I'll just use the mobile site for that, or the mobile app. For messenger though, that's actually perfect! I might look at it again. I'll just have to see. Re: trillian
Actually, it is a cross-platform chatting solution. I have only found it to be accessible mainly on the Mac with OS X. Actually, come to think of it, it seems like I did try it once on iOS, and over there it worked as well. I've not tried on android though. On the windows side of things, don't even attempt! It is Absolutely atrocious! Thanks. Chris. Send with aqua mail for android. Re: anybody good with trillian?
Hi Jeff. I find that with Trillian it works the best with Growl. It's kinda hard to explain how to enable Growl to talk when messages come through so if you want to either FaceTime me or add me to Skype you can do so. My Skype username is bbstheblindrapper and my FaceTime is the same as this email address. And if you don't have Growl it's $1.99 in the App Store so I suggest you get it. anybody good with trillian?
Hi, Just downloaded this app from the app store. It seems pretty straight forward but, at times my facebook contacts say something and I’m not sure if they’re talking to me. trillian vs adium
Hello, In the past I always used adium for msn on the mac but I now have read somehwere that trillian is also available. Is trillian accessible on the mac and does it work better then adium or is adium still preferred? Re: Trillian - a new kid on the IM block
Hi. Your contact list for MSN, AIM or what you have should already be visible in the window. To go to the Facebook and twitter features, go to the "window" menu and arrow down until you hear "your username on twitter" or "your user name on Facebook". "Your user name" will be the name you use on the respective services. Now, hit vo+spacebar and a new window called "your username on service" (where service is either Facebook or Twitter) will be brought up. I haven't as of yet found out what way is the best for reading these windows, groups or dom and as i say, you appear to be able to comment on others posts but not be able to write your own. You can write a post alright, but there's no button that VO can see to send the post off to the service. I have filed a bug about that and given it a high priority. Let's hope they do something about it, since this is the cleanest interface to Facebook i've seen for the Mac yet. HTH /Krister 8 aug 2011 kl. 02:25 skrev Missy Hoppe: > Hi! RE: Trillian - a new kid on the IM block
Hi! I've just installed trillian, and it was much easier to set up than adium. The problem is, I've got my accounts set up, but now, I can't figure out how to do anything with them. There are a bunch of unlabled buttons, and I can't figure out how to do anything, especially regarding the facebook features you described. If you could please explain how to get started, I would really appreciate it. Like I said, I've got it logged in to all my accounts; that part was relatively easy, but I can't figure out anything else. Thanks for your time, and I hope that you're having a great day! The >name of the program is Trillian and it's available from the Mac App store. It's free, but apparently there is a pro version ov it as well, though i haven't tested that one. This app has a whole lot of goodies, like facebook, twitter, and the most common Instant messaging services like Aim, Icq and MSN and more. The facebook plugin actually lets you not only chat, but also lets you read and write posts, like and comment on others posts and see friends and so on. In the Twitter part, you can see following and followers. The IM part works like Adium, it has an edit box for you to type your message in, and a html area where the answer appears. Both are very accessible, although the bug where in groups mode you can't see more than one page is there. On the whole, Trillian seems at least to me to be accessible, however there are some tips and tricks one should be aware of: In the facebook part, if you want to comment on a certain message, you have to find it and then route the mouse to it (vo+cmd+f5) then you'll have to click the mouse (vo+shift+spacebar) to highlight the message. After this, you can right click on the message (vo+shift+m) and from the popup menu, decide what to do. Trillian works with Growl so it's actually possible to have Trillian speak the incoming chat messages, however that seems to be true only when the app is in the back ground. The biggest issue this app has is that when in the Facebook or twitter part of the app, you can't send your own posts to the services. There's an edit box to type in your message, but there's no send button that VO can see and the shortcuts for sending don't seem to work. I have filed a bug at the Cerulian studios bug tracker, so let's see if this gets fixed soon. Over all, i think Trillian is a nice experience, and hadn't it been for the fact that i can't send posts to facebook or Twitter, i might actually switch from Adium to Trillian. /Krister -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: Trillian - a new kid on the IM block
That's the strange thing, the comment button seems to work, but i can for the life of me not find the button to send posts i write myself. Other than that, Trillian is really good, and i'm debating whether to switch from Adium to Trillian in the hopes that the Facebook and Twitter issues soon will be resolved. /Krister 7 aug 2011 kl. 08:28 skrev Ollie: > Yeah, the issues do seem to still be there. Yeah, the issues do seem to still be there. I do like it though. It seems that it's cut out a lot of the rubbish from my newsfeed too. There is a button that says comment after I comment on someones post but I'm not sure if that is working. I'll send them an email too after I've had a bit more of a play.
