hi,
ok. i don't remember hearing this with any windows screen reader, and so i was 
wondering if there was a way to turn it off.
with the windows screen readers, one can turn off say blank lines and alike.

No I think theymean that vo said blank at new lines in some instences. I have 
heard this done but I cannot at the present time remember where.

I'm not quite sure what do you mean. It says blank instead of the message lines 
or before them? because, sometimes there are blank lines between lines of text 
and vo will read them when arrowing because they are there and you are passing 
over them.
