Re: with respect to iTools

2014-09-01 Thread Ray Foret Jr
So I discovered early this morning. In fact, there is a problem that happens
when iTools adds files which are tagged to an iPhone so that the iPhone does
not see the tags which are in fact there. From what I understand, iTunes makes
use of two separate directories in order to cause iPhones to see and use meta
data tags. How exactly this works I don't recall, but, I am informed that the
people at iTools are aware of and will fix this.

Re: with respect to iTools

2014-09-01 Thread Rob
Hi,
I just wanted to say that iTools does not strip out mp3 tags.
Ray said he used iTunes to tag his music, I have found that doing so only lets
iTunes see the tags. meaning, other programs will not see the tags. so you
falsely blamed iTools for removing the tags.

Thanks,
Rob

Re: with respect to iTools

2014-08-30 Thread Ray Foret Jr
I think that, for some of them, it may have to do with a lack of seemingly
simple instructions on how to add music, add videos, check this or that album
or this or that song to synch or not to synch. I think also, to speak frankly,
that some of us, (doubtless without meaning to) instruct others in how to do
something with far more steps than are strictly necessary: and, as a
consequence of all the above, iTunes resisters, (such as I myself once was)
claim it's to complicated. As for iTools, I can't argue with its accessibility
for the most part, nor with its ease of use. However, I do have one very
serious issue that I have found. Apparently, when you add tracks to an iDevoce
after going through all the work of ading meta data taggs and making sure that
everything is correct, all that work goes down the drain when iTools adds the
tracks to the device because, for some blasted reason, all the critically
important meta data gets stripped out so that the iPhone cannot see exactly
where to put the new tracks and thus, they don't show up in the albums you've
done the work to put together. Yes, the songs are added: but, the only way in
which to locate them is to go to the more tab and, from there, select songs
rather than albums. IF you just want songs, that's okay I guess, but, if you
are like me and you instist on properly organized material, that's a real drag.
That's why iTunes is still the better way to proceed. With iTunes, you can
add .wav files, have iTunes do the .4ma encoding for you and, of course, it
will even move individual files in to the appropriate folders depending on how
you tag them. And, for my money, that's much better.

the Constantly Barefooted Ray, Still a very happy Mac and iphone user!

Hi!
Just a quick question.
Is Itunes so klunky to learn?
With respect for all who finds it hard to:
What is the biggest problem with itunes that itools can solve?
For me atleast i have no problem using itunes and synching and transfering
audio to my ipad mini or Iphone.
I had problems in windows but then i got my mac and i must say i've never
encountered any issues with itunes on the mac.
But we are all different and maybe i will try itools too.

Even with most of the buttons not labeled? Can you send both to and from your

Hi Ray and Phil.
You do not need windows or need to jailbreak the device. It works on OSX just
fine. I was able to send some music and videos, and tones to my device last

Re: with respect to iTools

2014-08-29 Thread Ray Foret Jr
No. Not even close dude.

iTools is supposed to be an alternative way of moving stuff to and from
iDevices without having to use iTunes to do it. I've seen a couple of
alternatives and, according to me, they all fall rather short. That's why I
was asking about iTools.

I don't mind using iTunes if I have to: but, an alternative might be
interesting: provided that:

1. One does not have to install windows on the Mac.

2. That it's fully accessible.

3. That one does not have to jailbreak the phone in order to use it.
