The qt-components package which landed in extras-devel two days ago is a backport to QtQuick 1.0 of the version actually in Harmattan. Re: Does Fremantle support any Qt Quick Components?
Hello Kate, Your timing couldn't b better as I was just starting to port my apps to QML and I began with Harmattan's Qt Components. So basically you are saying that the same QML code that runs on Harmattan will run on Fremante too? Do I need to take any special steps to allow this for my app? Since I still don't have my n950... trying to make my n900 behave somewhat like it
I really liked the idea of adding shortcuts to web sites on the programs menu. I think on the n900 is especially nice because we have ways to organize them. My issue is that in order to create desktop files you need to have a root permissions. Anybody has any idea of a workaround that would not affect the standard security ? Hello Felipe, Well, you can already put website shortcuts on your desktop, but here is what I think: One idea would be to have daemon running in the background as root and communicate with that daemon (for example, through D-Bus) from the user application. Re: Since I still don't have my n950... trying to make my n900 behave somewhat like it
Andrew: I didn't know that and I will give it a try. Timur: My first idea would be to use this for macuco. Macuco already supports a dbus signal to open an URL so it would be really easy to implement. I tried and work just fine. Thank you both.
