Using the Flasher Utility as a Nokia Software Update (NSU) Replacement?
Hello all, Is it possible to adapt the existing Flasher utility, used to update the Nokia Tablets under Linux, so it can be used as a replacement for the Windows-only NSU? I am not a developer. I am an end user looking for a way to update my Nokia N97 / E71 smartphones under the Linux CLI. I also own a Nokia 770 (which I seldom use) and I really liked the fact I could update the firmware under Linux... Is it that much of a problem? Thanks! .::. N770 Specs?
Hi, I am preparing a presentation for my LUG to introduce the Nokia 770. Where can I get detailed specs for the N770 and the N880? I could find a very general specs and I would like to give some more details, especially regarding the latest version of the Maemo platform. The general idea of the presentation is not only to introduce the device to the local Linux people but maybe get some new developers on board... Any pointers? Which issues worth mentioning? I am a user (not a developer) so I don't know what should I emphasize. Thanks! -- .::. [Whishlist] Chmod Calculator for the 770?
Hi all, I would like to have a handy chmod calculator on my 770. A nice eye-candy GUI would be a plus too... Can any of you make it happen? I couldn't even find such an app for my Ubuntu distro Thanks! -- .::. Lecture at my LUG: Presenting the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet
Hi All, I apologize for cross-posting to both lists, but I wanted to reach you all... I am about to present the N770 to my LUG: http://www.haifux.org/lectures/164/ Any pointers, pitfalls, tips or maybe if someone already did it and can share the experience and / or resources used - will be greatly appreciated. Hello John, I would appreciate a list of topics / URLs / Pictures etc. you might know of that may be of interest. I was hoping to find something in the publically available Nokia presentation archives in order to not have to reinvent the wheel of maemo/Internet Tablets/770/N800/etc. Besides it would be in Nokia's marketing interest to get the message out on the topic and LUG's might be a good source of some viral marketing, not to mention product sales. If you put something together in English I could review/comment/collaborate with you. Converting PDFs toN770's Resolution
Hello all, I have a bunch of PDF files I would like to read on my 770. These PDFs are an eZine and consist of purely heavy graphics set to a normal PC screen resolution. The internal PDF reader was unable to coupe with the heavy task, so I've tried Evince and had better luck, but still, it's slow turning pages and to read it I need to zoom in and then the navigation is very uncomfortable... I am running an Ubuntu Edgy box at home, and I though I could convert the files to the 770's screen resolution - optimized screen resolution and smaller file size (some of them get as big as 14 MB(!) Is there something similar to the Media Converter script for PDF's? Any pdf-tool I can run on the file from a console on my Ubuntu box? Thanks! -- .::. Re: [maemo-developers] Should I change my Repo's settings?
Thanks Mike, So, should I had another instance for the maemo repos (maemo and extras) withe the scirocco distro or should I just change the existing ones (mistral) to scirocco? i.e.: If I add a new instance for the same repos with diferent distro (scirocco) - will it break the device? I am confised. Does 2.2006.39-14 = scirocco? Thanks! On 12/5/06, Mike Lococo [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi Folks, Should I change all mistral occurrences to scirocco? My questions is a general one - not specifically for the Canola install. If you have IT2006 v2.2006.39-14 installed... snip good advice about repo settings There is no good general answer for this question yet. What I've been doing is checking the repo to see if they have packages available for scirocco and using those if they do. You can check if a scirocco dist is available by visiting the repo URL in your web browser and going into the /dists/ directory. For example, repository.maemo.org is: http://repository.maemo.org/dists/ The only repos I've found that currently offer scirocco packages are repository.maemo.org, maemo.org extras, and the canola repo. Tableteer, for example, does not... although they do offer a bora dist (ooh, ahh). [maemo-developers] Should I change my Repo's settings?
Hi All, I was reading the instructions for the installation of the Canola project and I noticed something interesting: It says, in case I have IT2006 v2.2006.39-14 installed, I should add the scirocco repo... Should I change all mistral occurrences to scirocco? My questions is a general one - not specifically for the Canola install. Thanks! -- ::.
