Dear all,

I had been using GTK_STOCK_ITEMS, like some OK buttons and QUIT menu.
Is the GTK_STOCK_ITEM localized to different languages on Nokia 770?

When I changed to German Language, the text of GTK_STOCK_ITEM is still
English.
Should I avoid using GTK_STOCK_ITEM when I want to develop an i18n and
l16n application?

Hi

To fully make use of the BlueZ stack, an application needs to run as root on the N770.

Is there an easy way to make an application always run as "root" ?

OR

Is there an alternative for applications to access functions within the SDP without running as root.

Hi. I would like to make changes to the X server running on the Nokia 770.
How would I: 1) get the source code 2) re-load the changes onto the Nokia
770?

Thanks,
Dan

2006-07-11 Thread slinsner
Hi,

I've got another question:

Yesterday I installed scratchbox 0.9.8.8 and maemo 2.0. Then I tried to start
emulator within SDK_ARMEL and with Xephyr. But by clicking on the task launcher
button, the emaltor crashed down and I got following error message:

maemo-launcher: child (pid=25027) exited due to exit()=245
matchbox-wm: X error warning (0xa0002c): BadWindow (opcode: 12)
matchbox-wm: X error warning (0xa0002c): BadWindow (opcode: 12)
matchbox-wm: X error warning (0xa0002c): BadWindow (opcode: 25)

What can I do to solve this problem?

Thanks,
Shara

that the antenna is inside has low gain, so i as many are thinking to
modify the nokia770 inserting a piece of cable SUCOFLEX on the
electronic circuit and to a little hole on the case, then fixing the
cable were first was the pencil and to mount a connector SMA, so it's
possibile have more signal and presence of hot spots.

2006-09-29 Thread 박영훈

Hello all,

I’m a newbie to 770 and maemo, in fact, suddenly I
received it from my boss to test our application.

IThe machine itself and an usb cable, and a power cable, I have
only those things( no extra CDs, or no more cables).

I have a little experience about linux and found the maemo site.

So I installed Debian 2.6.8 and checked 770 detected as a USB
storage disk

It’s ok, detected, but showed as an empty disk.

But after that, I can’t proceed any more.

I think I must setting up usbnet function followed by the tutorial
in maemo.org, “Set
up USB networking with Debian”

But after reading some lines, I realized i don’t know how I can excute and
edit the configuration on the device(770 machine)

I checked that machine if I could find some editors or shell
programs to run commands but couldn’t find.

So, my first question is how I can excute commands about usbnet
configurations like ‘insmod g_ether..’ or ‘vi edit /etc/network/interfaces’ .

The another problem is on PC side, I can’t set up usb0 interface.

First I loaded the usbnet moulde and edited
/etc/network/interfaces file as the tutorial.

After running ‘ifup usb0’, I got a error list like below..

SIOCSIFADDR:
No such device
usb0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device
usb0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
usb0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
Failed to bring up usb0.

I don’t know what more I can do now.

Plz any help will be appreciated.

Regards

Park.

Currently no. However, (AFAIK) the 2006 OS release will allow you to
install packages with root privileges.

Are you talking about server or client side SDP functionality? Enabling
sdpd on the current SW releases requires root, but creating new local
service records or performing client side operations should be possible
without root. (btw, the 2006 OS release will have sdpd running by
default so that problem will be solved there).

Johan
