Thanks Kate.

I will investigate how to use libtpsession, although i'd be interested in
any progress with Qt Mobility Phone API, or at least accessing call history
using Qt Mobility.

Qt Mobility Phone API is not yet defined. You can get indication on icoming
call using libtpsession. Libtpsession is not
stantard one but you can find in from extras. I am currently working
eventlogger interface to Qt Mobility, let's see
could I find way to access Call hirsory with it.

No, hybrid application is more like an application composed of web

Symbian homescreen widgets are different (somewhat more limited, no
"full" QWidget support). However, there will quite likely be an
unified way of exposing stuff in homescreen, but what the trolls are
working on now are QWidgets on homescreen, which is maemo specific.

Basically: if you implement a homescreen widget in Symbian, you will
be able to use it on Maemo too. However, it won't necessarily work the
other way around.

Just be curious that is that called Qt Hybrid application or not.
Last couple of days, we have a talk about Qt Hybrid application here. And
the idea is quite similar. So the solution is maemo platform specific or we
could deploy it symbian also.

I mean to write a Qt application and add it as Desktop widget both maemo(meego
?)
and symbian.

You should wait. This has been worked on, and there will be an
official solution how to do this soon. You can ask around #qt-maemo on
irc if you need more info. Just make a QWidget that works and soon
you'll be able to slap it on home screen.

Unofficial solutions exist, but they are not complete (e.g. don't

Developing for Maemo 5 using Qt

2010-02-23 Thread Jose Maria Garcia-Valdecasas
Hi all,

This is my first post in this list, and although i have tried to search in
the archive, i haven't found anything related to my question.

I have developed/contributed to some apps using C++ and Qt already, but have
never done the same for maemo, so now that i have an N900 i thought that i
could play a bit and work in some apps/widgets i think that my n900 is
missing. And here is where the problems begin.

I can't find any desktop widget example using Qt (most probably because the
idea was to use GTK+ in Maemo 5 and not Qt), so i'd like to know if anyone
here has a link to an example, or documentation about how to do this.

Secondly, one of the ideas is to provide a desktop widget which shows the
number of lost calls/sms/mails (this could also be shown in the "slide to
unlock" screen). Can this be done only using Qt and it's beta QMobility? Or
should I wait until it's more mature and use right now any other API? I'm
not used to Maemo SDK, so any hint would be apreciated.

Thanks in advance and sorry if this topic has already been discussed.
