I tried the patch, but the repositories remained the same, (i was
gettinng stuck in the "middle", with succesful scratchbox install but
broken maemo sdk).
I recovered successfully giving to the maemo-sdk-install_4.0.sh script
an alternate sources.list by means of the -a flag.
In the alternate sources.list file it is sufficient to replace the
word "repository" with whatever you want in order to avoid the Akamai
cache[1].
By the way, manual install of sdk as described in [2] is another
viable option; sources.list manipulation is of course required anyway.

Hope it's useful for someone.

Bye,
Roberto

Re: Is the repository up

2007-12-27 Thread Roberto Resoli
I'm trying to setup Chinook just now, but so many -dev packages are
not accessible...

I agree with Harini, please (addressed to Nokia people) give some
information on how to recover a failed maemo-sdk installation, when the
repositories will be ok again! (I don't want to start up again from
scratchbox installation)

In the meanwhile,
Happy Holidays!

The same for me. I cannot install libsdl-ttf. But I found solution to get
that (and some others) package. I downloaded Maemo SDK Appliance for VMware
(http://maemovmware.garage.maemo.org/) and found it in the
/var/cache/apt/archives :)

Re: Is the repository up

2007-12-26 Thread Rob Woolley
Hi,

I posted a workaround that I used to get the SDK to install properly. I
haven't had a chance to play with the SDK yet, but the installation
completed successfully.

The patch is posted in Bugzilla here:
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2620#c13

Hope that helps anyone running into the same problem I did.

Cheers,
Rob

It's not up for me. I'm still getting the bad result from the web server
when the sdk install script attempts to get
http://repository.maemo.org/dists/chinook/free/binary-armel/Packages.gz
