Yes, I use it (in order to reflect internal structure).

Ok somebody then has just setup a "private" Bugzilla product for his/her
private bug reports. I think it is then better not to touch this product at all
in case that somebody still uses this...

As summary I am now happy with the new documentation structure in Maemo

We found those problematic servers and they were redeployed couple of hours
ago. Hildon 2.2 UI documents should be now fine in Maemo Info Center.

No, as these reports are about issues in the (mostly non-public) UI
specifications of applications.
It's correct that they have nothing to do with public documentation.

No. Two UI specs were released, but not all the other internal UI Specs.
But that's up to Nokia and not my business...

Thanks, I did not check those actual bugs this product has.

This is ok for me as these are really Maemo application bugs not documentation
bugs.

Our UI team together with Maemo community can decide do they want to have this
product here or should these bugs be reported to applications that do not
follow specifications.

Those Hildon 2.2. UI docs are back again in Info Center.
http://library.maemodocs.nokia.com/fremantle/index.jsp?nav=/1

We are still investigating what actually was wrong in Info Center to be able to
prevent this to happen again. Problem was not related to Akamai cache servers
but most probably Info Center cluster deployment or our loadbalancer
configurations was somewhat broken.

Anyhow docs are back again for people to file bugs...

Looking at this: http://is.gd/cevlF it appears that these bugs are being
opened against applications which do not follow UI specifications,
rather than being documentation bugs.

I suggest leaving them there - and if people really feel there is
confusion, changing the name of the component to just "UI".

Hi again,

> From: Tikka Jarmo (Nokia-D/Helsinki)
> I will check new structure today or tomorrow.

I just went through new documentation structure in Maemo Bugzilla.

Actual structure under "Documentation" classification looks fine for me.
https://bugs.maemo.org/enter_bug.cgi?classification=Documentation

*
What I am still wondering is "UI Specification" product under "Maemo Official
Platform" classification here:
https://bugs.maemo.org/enter_bug.cgi?classification=Maemo%20Official%20Platform

Those UI specs are now released as separate tutorials "Maemo Hildon 2.2 UI
Guide" and "Maemo Hildon 2.2 UI Widget Guide" in Maemo Info Center. See
http://library.maemodocs.nokia.com/fremantle/index.jsp?nav=/1.

Bugs for these Hildon guides should be reported under "Documentation"
classification to the "Tutorials" product.

NOTICE there seems to be some hickup either in Maemo Info Center deployment for
our Info Center clusters or in Akamai world wide cache network configuration
because I cannot find those docs from Info Center anymore. They are anyhow
still downloadable from here
http://library.maemodocs.nokia.com/documents/fremantle/Maemo_5_SDK_Documentation/

I will try to check which problem this is and fix it asap.

*
Under classification "Websites" there is wrong description for "Maemo.org
Website" product saying that documentation bugs should be filed under
"Development Platform" classification when they now should be filed under
"Documentation" classification.

And thanks a lot about cleaning documentation structure in Maemo Bugzilla.
Having some classification in bug reports makes it much easier to go reports
through and find open bug reports for some specific documents.

I try to find time to go these old documentation bugs through and set their
statuses (WONTFIX if nothing else) so that they just do not stay new or open
there.

"Documentation" is now centralized in bugs.maemo.org:
https://bugs.maemo.org/enter_bug.cgi?classification=Documentation

Currently there are no Default Assignees set.
Changes can be tracked by adding the (virtual) "Default QA contact" to
your watchlist. See the corresponding subpages at
https://bugs.maemo.org/describecomponents.cgi and
http://blogs.gnome.org/aklapper/2008/12/18/watching-products-in-maemoorg-bugzilla/
for more information.

As I killed the "Documentation" component in the "Developer platform"
product I manually sorted recent tickets (version 5.*) into the five new
products in the new Documentation classification.

I dumped the backlog (Documentation reports for earlier version) into
"Developer Guide" which is incorrect in some cases.
That was a trade-off (I won't spend hours sorting out new correct
products for stuff from three years ago that nobody is interested in).
I kept all Version and Target Milestone information though.

For any further changes, corrections etc please contact me.

API documents are somewhat problematic because:

1. if problems they need to be fixed to the source code and regenerated (only
Nokia and team responsible of that specific component can fix this unless
somebody wants to take upstream approach and wait until doc fix from upstream
gets to the Maemo).

2. it has proven to be difficult for people to map from API document to the
actual technology component in Maemo.org Bugzilla mainly because we do not have
all technology components defined in Bugzilla :)

These are the reasons I propose generic API document component to the Bugzilla
that somebody who knows into what technology component possible bug reports
must be moved or can even create new components to the Bugzilla.

If somebody knows for what component API doc bugs should be created (and that
component exists in Bugzilla :) that is the preferred way to file these bugs.

So "API Documents" is just a placeholder and should have a component
"Please avoid filing reports here. File them against the specific
product/component and add the "docs" keyword instead." ?
