libqt4-dev: Broken packages

2010-01-29 Thread Matus Uzak

Hi,

I'm unable to install libqt4-dev in FREMANTLE_ARMEL target, FREMANTEL_X86
is Ok.

Do I have to make a bug report?

$ fakeroot apt-get install libqt4-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libqt4-dev: Depends: libqt4-webkit but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

br,

matus

If you chase this build dependency you will find it is because you are missing
a non-free proprietary package from Nokia's repository. Enable the repo that
requires you to have a long string in the deb URL and it will fix your missing
dep. Then file a bug report asking for that package to be freed. ;)

This is a bit unhelpful as it's vague. See
http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/Maemo5_Final_Installation :
Accept the EULA from here to obtain the URL to access the Nokia
binaries repository and the link over there.

Well, a short I want $package free won't be a valid report. ;-)
If you can provide good reasons you are of course welcome, yeah.
Also see http://wiki.maemo.org/Why_the_closed_packages .
