[maemo-users] Re: Plugged in USB, not booting
Never mind everyone. I came back to it a few hours later, and it magically booted up again. Sorry for the bother. [maemo-users] Plugged in USB, not booting
Sorry for the cross-post. Just got my Nokia 770 today and I love it so far, but I ran into a snag. I plugged the Nokia into my computer via USB to copy some new packages over. I then accidentally shut down the Nokia, and it won't boot anymore neither unplugged nor plugged in. Trying to start the device plugged into the computer via USB produces the following messages: Slick # tail -f /var/log/messages Apr 10 18:58:13 Slick usb 2-3: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 3 Apr 10 18:58:13 Slick usb 2-3: device descriptor read/64, error -110 Apr 10 18:58:13 Slick usb 2-3: device descriptor read/64, error -110 Apr 10 18:58:13 Slick usb 2-3: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 4 Apr 10 18:58:13 Slick usb 2-3: device descriptor read/64, error -110 Windows also says the USB device is malfunctioning. Anybody have any ideas how to reset the device, or otherwise fix this condition I would very much appreciate it. I'm just itching to do some Nokia .NET development. :-) Sandro ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
[maemo-users] Re: Added AP - now Nokia770 does not boot up anymore
I mailed yesterday with a similar issue. the device got freeze with the nokia big letters for some seconds, no progress bar, and it shut down i tried also reflashing without any success On 4/10/06, Clemens Eisserer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi there, > > I've encountered a quite shocking problem with my Nokia770, I chose > "Connect" from the icon-bar added an AccessPoint which has been found > and ... after about 3-4s of doing nothing my 770 rebooted. > > Now it sticks at the boot-screen where it displays system informations > (flashed in root-mode) and re-boots every ~30s, I am running "2005-50 > 2", is this the latest version? > I never logged in as root nor did I change any system settings or > files I couldn't without root-mode. > > I wonder wether I could/should create something like a n770-image of > my non-booting device (is this possible and if yes how), maybe nokia > developers are interested in investigating this issue. > > lg Clemens > ___ > maemo-users mailing list > maemo-users@maemo.org > https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users > -- Pedro A. [maemo-users] .profile not being loaded
I am experiencing a similar problem as the gentleman who posted a thread on maemo-users in January 2006: http://maemo.org/pipermail/ maemo-users/2006-January/000450.html . The problem is that .profile doesn't seem to be loaded automatically. I set up .profile and .ashrc in accordance with the above-referenced post, and permissions and ownership are as can be seen below (in / home/user. The files are also duplicated with root ownership in /root). -rwxr-xr-x1 user users 556 Sep 4 23:30 .ashrc -rwxr-xr-x1 user users 28 Sep 4 23:04 .profile ~ $ cat .profile ENV=$HOME/.ashrc export ENV ~ $ cat .ashrc export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/var/lib/install/usr/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH export PATH=/sbin:/var/lib/install/sbin:/var/lib/install/bin:/var/ lib/install/usr/bin:/var/lib/install/usr/sbin:$PATH [myaliaseshere] Everything seems to work swimmingly if I source .ashrc directly. Things that do not work (.ashrc not read) include: simply launching an xterm; sourcing .profile; rebooting; launching a new shell; running "sh --login" as user. Things that do work (.ashrc read): "su -" as root; sshing in as user. Please inform me of what I am doing wrong here. Thanks. This is on a fresh 2005 wk 51 reflash with --enable-rd-mode but no other system modifications to speak of. -- Toshi Clark ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
[maemo-users] Added AP - now Nokia770 does not boot up anymore
Hi there, I've encountered a quite shocking problem with my Nokia770, I chose "Connect" from the icon-bar added an AccessPoint which has been found and ... after about 3-4s of doing nothing my 770 rebooted. Now it sticks at the boot-screen where it displays system informations (flashed in root-mode) and re-boots every ~30s, I am running "2005-50 2", is this the latest version? I never logged in as root nor did I change any system settings or files I couldn't without root-mode. I wonder wether I could/should create something like a n770-image of my non-booting device (is this possible and if yes how), maybe nokia developers are interested in investigating this issue. lg Clemens ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
