Maemo IRC meeting with Quim Gil
Hi all, In an attempt to open a communication channel between Nokia and the maemo community, we are planning an IRC meeting. Quim Gil, marketing manager open source, will be joining on behalf of Nokia. Maemo community members are invited to join this IRC chat, so they can ask Quim questions they would like to have answered or propose ideas. We want to have a chat between the community and Nokia, so that we can identify issues that are present and prioritize them. This should be an starting point for collaboration with the community and we hope to receive constructive comments. Based on this meeting, we will evaluate if it makes sense to make this a recurring event. If you want to participate in this chat, join us on irc.freenode.net, channel #maemo-meeting on Tuesday May 13th at 22:00 Helsinki time. You can find out which time it is in your timezone via timeanddate.com[1] - Niels [1] http://tinyurl.com/3nuf9w ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
Re: omweather recently broken?
I would bet it's some sort of weather.com format change. OMweather says wrong station code or zip code!! for my configured cities. At first I thought it was the Update on Internet connection with the dodgy overloaded wireless here at JavaOne, but it'd seem that's not the case. Only tried updating San Francisco, CA at the moment, not Rugby, UK. I'd guess weather.com or whomever has changed a format or something. WiFi Not connecting to My Network
Hi Recently i got back from work to find that my N770 wouldn't connect to my wireless network. The strange thing is that only an hour ago it was connected to my Wireless network at work. The error that comes up is a network connection error. It has been like this for a week. I am wondering wether a flash will fix the problem only problem is the To- Do List program has items in it that i need to know and i am afraid of loosing them. K I'm experiencing the same issue. The 1-ClickWeather plugin for Firefox uses weather.com as well, but it's still working fine for me. That isn't enough to rule out a weather.com change, of course, but it might help track it down. On Wednesday 07 May 2008 21:47:37 Dean Chester wrote: yes i think its called GPE todo. The GPE databases are saved if you use the Nokia backup/restore program to save them onto a memory card. You can then restore them after you have re-flashed. Note: there was a GPE bug for a time which stopped the GPE databases being saved. The bug was fixed some time ago but it is possible you are running a very old version of GPE. If you have Xterm installed, you can copy the database files by hand, just in case the backup doesn't work. Start xterm and copy the files using: cp ~/.gpe/* /media/mmc1/ Graham ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
omweather stopped working: bad codes
I am running omweather on my N800 under OS2007. I have been using it since I got the device last year and it seemed to work perfectly. Yesterday all the icons for all locations show a question mark, and changing location pops up the error Wrong station code or ZIP code!!! I updated the applet to 0.19.6 and rebooted but the error remains. Has someone (NOAA?) recently changed the standard or non-standard codes that weather.com uses or something? ///Peter ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users

Change Search Applets Search Engine
I'd prefer NOT to use the evil empires search engine which shows up in th4e search applet on the desktop, and change it to one of 2 or 3 others. Is there a way to do this? ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
