Carrier locked N900 and root access
Hi there: In case I buy a carrier locked N900... will I still have the possibility to get root access?... I think so, but then... what prevents me from unlocking the device??? -- Salut, Sebas ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users

See https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8126#c6 (though actually off-topic for that bug and in need of a separate report). andre -- Andre Klapper (maemo.org bugmaster) ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
maemo-control-usb on N810
I installed maemo-control-usb and tried it out and it doesn't work, i.e. no network connection. When I try to configure it I get the error, "Module insertion has failed". Can anyone help with this? I've powered my N810 down then back up - no change (I haven't removed the battery yet). I appreciate any help anyone can provide. In advance, THANKS! :-) Nick. ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
forcing north up on (ovi) map app
I assume I am not the only one somewhat frustrated with the "new" "ovi map" map application on the N900. I assume (and hope) it will at some point be upgraded/replaced with something that can do voice instructions (in line with the Nokia announcements for the Symbian phones), but for now, does anyone know any way to force it into north-up mode? Clicking on the top part of the compass rose makes it go north up for just long enough that you have not quite managed to orient yourself, before rotating back...
