"does not work" is always a bit vague when trying to reproduce. :-)

Is there anything in the App Manager log?

Perhaps proxy issues?

You will get better feel for the problem by playing around with good
old-fashioned apt - i.e. install rootsh from extras (using 3g), open
terminal, sudo gainroot, "apt-get install gpodder" (or somesuch).

My wifi connection is working as a) i can browse the web with it and b) lisgten
to web radio and of course c) the wifi router has assigned it with an IP
address.

Any suggstions?

Hi there,

I'm glad someone else has this issue! I just picked up my new N900
from the office today, got home, did a backup, and started trying to
install software.

It hasn't happened yet :(

I have tried via 3G connection and via WiFi, but installing via the
app catalog does not work.

I have an N800 for the past few years, so I am very familiar with app
repositories, and getting them working.

My issue doesn't look like a client issue.

I'd appreciate any help possible.

thanks,
bernard

You are right. Thank you. By opening tracker-indexer.log I have found
many messages such as the following

"unable to open database file"

So, now the questions are:

1) What's the best to not loose data such as the tags? Perhaps they
are stored into the media files.

2) How do I avoid to public private data?

Perhaps the best way to proceed is to open the SQlite data base and
check what type of information it contains and remove the one cannot
be public. After that I can submit the bug report.

Ciao,

Sounds like tracker's files are corrupted. You can recover by running
command
"rm -rf /home/user/.local/share/tracker"
in X Terminal and rebooting. Before doing that, it could be a good idea
to save those files and report a bug for it.

N900: Issue with Photo Viewer and File Explorer

2010-02-04 Thread Walter Di Carlo
Hi All,

I don't know if they are known but I am facing a couple of issues with my N900.

1) In the File Explorer I am having some folder listed twice. I think
there is a cache which is wrong because the file system seems ok.

2) When I open the Photo viewer of the Multimedia application they do
not list the photos or the multimedia files. Sometime, the N900 notify
me that it will update the list but at the end it doesn't show
anything.

Please, do you know how to solve such issues?

Thank you

Hi,

I have a little problem with geolocalisation: my N900 says I'm in
"Grenoble, Tahiti" to other people watching my status. I'm effectively
in Grenoble, metropolitan France, which is quite far from Tahiti (even
if Tahiti is French).

So .. is there something to tweak somewhere to make it realize I'm not
