Video RSS downloader?
Hi, Is there an app for the N800/OS2008 that can download videos from a video RSS feed? I use Miro on the desktop but rather not have to shuffle files between the two. Cheers, Paul. ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
keep things in sync
Hej all, first let me introduce: I'm Boris from Kiel, Germany, using Debian Linux since Potato or so, getting a N900 in some days. With that in my hands I'm going to have a lot of questions and hopefully find help in here! Here is my first issue: I was suffering years from having no good solution for synchronizing the productive databases on my mobile device (last one was/is a Palm Treo 650). On my Desktop, I'm using the Mozilla-stuff a lot as my central database for adresses (Thunderbird or Icedove), dates (Lightning or Iceowl) and surfing (bookmarks) (Firefox or Iceweasel). Now the question: How should I try to get those things synchronized with my N900. Futhermore the ToDo-List should be in sync, too! I think there will be solutions from Mozilla, but there might be a N900-way? Thanks for comments, Boris ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
RE: cannot access samba shares
I kind of depends on what you want to do. If you want to access files from a linux box sshfs is a much nicer option. I've been trying to get sshd running under cygwin for Windows boxes, but without much luck. UPnP works nicely if you want to share media files and access them from either the File manager or the media player, but I don't know any way to access other files using UPnP, or accessing them other ways, such as from a terminal window, or being able to do things other than play the files. And even the media access isn't all that reliable. Re: cannot access samba shares
I've installed easy debian as well. Is there really no way to access shares from Maemo? This is my smb.conf: [global] netbios name = LaFonera workgroup = FON server string = LaFonera syslog = 10 encrypt passwords = true passdb backend = smbpasswd obey pam restrictions = yes socket options = TCP_NODELAY preferred master = yes os level = 20 security = share guest account = nobody invalid users = root domain master = Yes unix extensions = no smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd [mp3] path = /tmp/mounts/Disc-A1/mp3 read only = yes guest ok = yes browseable = yes I can, however, only see a share called "Disc-A1" (which I cannot see from my Mac...) Is there any good reason for dropping such a usefull feature? Samba support was dropped for Maemo5 and is "Won't fix". So if it partially works you're already lucky I'd say. andre -- Andre Klapper (maemo.org bugmaster) ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
cannot access samba shares
Hello list, I have created a guest share on a Linux (Fonera Router) host which I want to access from my N900 device. However, I can only see the top directory. Accessing the share from Mac OSX or Windows works just fine. Is this a limitation of the N900 file browser? Are there other smb-browsers applicable that work more reliable?
