Re: Desktop icons disappeared after reboot

2010-09-06 Thread Christoph Eckert
Hi,

thanks for the helpful hints. I finally ended with reflashing the system, which
didn't cure the problem. But after reflashing the mmc also everything was fine
again.

I guess the system left some configuration stuff in the user folder which
hildon-home subsequently had difficulty to parse.

It's rather annoying if you have to reflash the device, but I can cope with
that easily. I have no clue though what an average user did in such a case.

A great device anyway. Have fun with it :) .

when I click reply your email is used instead of the users list!!! Thats the
reason you got that *alleged* private email...I did copy the same response
again to the group instantly btw...

so,

Any1 knows why some repos gpg is broken? maybe the public key was not
updated!!!
I might try to build older ssl to a custom path, and then build curl, or
perhaps newer curl can be built on ssl98..i will get back to you guys later

Track Lost Nokia N900 Application

2010-09-06 Thread dimitris -

Hi!

I would like to ask you if there is any application to track a lost or stolen
N900? Basically i am looking for an application like this one:
http://www.trackandprotect.com but for N900.

Is anyone interested to make one? I would be happy to pay up to 20 dollars for
such an application and i think that most users would be intersted.

Thanks

Gregale was Maemo2.2 and it seems that the requirements of this package
are = instead of >=.

As far as I know curl is not available for Maemo5.

What's your exact usecase / What do you connect to? FTP? VNC?

Description: Get a file from an HTTP, HTTPS, FTP or GOPHER server
curl is a client to get files from servers using any of the supported
protocols. The command is designed to work without user interaction
 or any kind of interactivity.
 .
curl offers a busload of useful tricks like proxy support, user
authentication, ftp upload, HTTP post, file transfer resume and more.
 .

You see it requires Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.5-1), libcurl3 (>= 7.15.5-1),
libssl0.9.7, zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.1)
so,

Nokia-N900:/etc/apt# apt-cache search libssl

libssl0.9.8 - SSL shared libraries

libssl0.9.7 is not available...

sources.list is completely empty here, as
hildon-application-manager.list is *the* place.

Re: N900 Repos

2010-09-06 Thread fmb fmb
Thnx,

I dont think that Im missing alot, Fedora, CentOS great distros also... :)

My repos now look like that

in hildon-application-manager.list I have

deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps/ ./
deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/003 ./
deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle1.2/ovi/ ./

and in sources.list I have

deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ fremantle-1.2 free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ diablo free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ gregale free non-free

for diablo I was forced to add the gpg manually using this command

gpg --keyserver wwwkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys 3F027BB1

yet, that did not fix the problem entirely as I am getting gpg warnings

Now, I can see curl, but I got this error

Nokia-N900:/etc/apt# apt-get install curl
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
curl: Depends: libssl0.9.7 but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

so, I searched for libssl, and it seems the one available is libssl0.9.8 -
SSL shared libraries, so this could explains why curl is broken! Any
thoughts?

thnx
