If https://wiki.maemo.org/Sync#Desktop_sync is not useful I am afraid
that there is no help.

There still is Funambol that you can install on your computer (or on a
local server). I've tried it for months. It worked great. It work for
contacts, calendar, and tasks. The advantage for paranoids like some of
us is that permit to synchronize with a lot of other devices or
softwares. And if you need to do something else with it... well, it's
free software.

Hope that helps (and excellent question about the IMEI)

PS: For the IMEI, maybe looking in Debian networks tools (you install
.deb on N900) or maybe what they say about IMEI on telecomix.org . Happy
Hacking! ;-)

Problems with using sshfs

2012-03-24 Thread James Brown
device - n900
OS - maemo 5
sshfs v. 2.0-2maemo2 , fuse-utils
2.7.2-1maemo10

I installed sshfs and tried to mount remote directory to my device's FS
but have the next problem:
 sshfs james@192.168.1.2:Desktop /media/mmc1/mnt
fuse: failed to open /dev/fuse: Permission denied

 ls -l /dev/fuse
 crw-rw1 root root 10, 229 Mar 24 18:28 /dev/fuse

I have created a groupe fuse like in Debian and included the user
user into that group.
So, it mounts well.

But now I have the next problem. When I try umount I cannot do it:
fusermount -u /media/mmc1/mnt
mount: can't find /media/mmc1/mnt in /etc/fstab

How I can resolve it?

Cannot find signatures for scratchbox

2012-03-24 Thread James Brown
Hello,

I am installing 'scratchbox-core scratchbox-devkit-apt-https
scratchbox-devkit-autotools-legacy scratchbox-devkit-debian-squeeze
scratchbox-devkit-doctools scratchbox-devkit-git scratchbox-devkit-perl
scratchbox-devkit-python-legacy scratchbox-devkit-qemu
scratchbox-devkit-svn scratchbox-libs
scratchbox-toolchain-cs2007q3-glibc2.5-arm7
scratchbox-toolchain-cs2007q3-glibc2.5-i486
scratchbox-toolchain-host-gcc' on my Debian system for installing and
using Maemo SDK
I cannot find signatures on the web-pages of scratchbox-project which
used for signing the packages from ist repos.
Are their exist?
And the next question, is it possible to use insted of the above
packages the package scratchbox2 from Debian distro (for Maemo SDK) or
not?
