thoughts on os2007on770
hi all, i've installed os2007on770 this week and i'd like to comment some thoughts: 1.- playing video (demo video on the image) is not possible. neither nokia media player (just dark screen) nor mplayer (illegal instruction). has anyone compiled mplayer for os2007on770 ? 2.- audio streaming does not work. i've applied this patch #496 but nothing. any clue ? 3.- #710 is also very annoying: untrusted certificate kills browser the good things: 1.- i feel the system faster 2.- the quick contacts applet is resizable 3.- auto-connect to the wifi network is very cool some issues: * when you browse a phone thru the file browser instead of the name of the phone, the root folder is something like ***gateway. * WPA-EAP TTLS is still not supported and what do you think about battery usage ? i feel that os2007on770 eats the battery more quickly :-/ anyway, thanks for your efforts on keeping our not-so-old device updated ! ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
[maemo-users] audio format experiences on n770
i've tested 3 audio formats on the n770. (not checked bitrates, but i think vorbis, mpc are the defaults for the encoder and mp3 192kbps) mp3 = 2-4% cpu usage vorbis = 18-22% cpu usage mpc = 94% cpu usage and sounds scratched (i've compiled libmpcdec3 and gstreamer-0.10-plugins-bad) so if you want to keep your cpu usage as low as possible, use mp3 :-/ ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users

[maemo-users] gpe-mini-browser for maemo
hi all, i've packaged gpe-mini-browser for maemo. you can find the packages in http://bencer.cauterized.net/nokia770/ *warning*: there are very very dirty and quick packages. this weekend i'll have much cleaner and well done packages in a repository. i'll try to make fresh packages from gpe svn often. enjoy! ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users

It might be interesting if someone could test and report if it works or not. i've just installed gpe-todo in mistral and seems to work ok. there are some problems due to needs hildon-libs0 (= 0.14.8-1) but you can download each deb one by one and install them using dpkg --force-depends -i *.deb thanks ! ___ maemo-users mailing list maemo-users@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-users
