It can be found at:

The ' install ' link should add the appropriate repository...

However, I can't get it to actually use downloaded dictionaries.

The only dictionary program I have been able to successfully use is
Sdict viewer:

Frustrating...

Read farther up the group - OR run yourself over to:
http://xdxf.revdanica.com/down/ problem for me is that they load, but
when searching nothing ever comes up.

mDICTIONARY

2009-06-29 Thread Randall
I can get the dictionaries loaded, but when searching a simple word -
say home, nothing ever happens. It indicates that it's working by the
red X to stop it, but it can run for an hour with no returns or errors.

How do I troubleshoot this?

I HAVE uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed.

If you press the power button, do you get the power menu?

Yes and I can lock the keys, and then unlock, but that only sometimes
kicks the unit back into gear.

So the device hasn't locked up, power key works and you can even
 interact with the power menu?

Is the use-case for the lockup following:
 - You have a Browser page open with Flash video playing in it
 - You switch away from Browser (to Desktop or another application)
 - screen blanks while the Flash is still playing on the background,
 - video finishes playing before you tap on the screen to wake it up
 ?

(If yes, this is NB#83173 which doesn't seem to be reported at
bugs.maemo.org. Could you then report your use-case there and put
 me on CC?)

You are correct - BUT I can't get this posted on bugs - no matter what I do.

You have a bug number - what's with that?

(I.e. is something just grabbing the input instead the device
 freezing.)
 No.

Do you have swap enabled? If yes, have you checked that the memory
card FAT file system hasn't corrupted?
Yes it is and no it's not (I like those answers).

 Good. :-)

Option 2 = transfer files via sd card readers. Quickest.

it would seem logical that a tablet should be able to log onto a lan

very well described or marketed. In contrast, my daughter's eee pc

the tablet's file manager doesn't work this way. Seems like a 'duh' as

Should have explained this better, I'm talking about via the LAN, not

Instant Messaging Squid

2007-04-30 Thread Randall Smith

What's the trick in getting Instant Messaging to work with Google Talk when
the 770 is behind a Squid proxy?

I have a 770 (gregale) and a laptop on the same WLAN and I run HTTP/S
through my Squid proxy. I use Gajim on the laptop and it works fine
tunneling over http to Google Talk. But the chat client on the 770 won't.
Using Ethereal/Wireshark, I can watch the 770 connect to the proxy and the
proxy connect to Google Talk, but then the 770 closes the connection to my
Squid host while the handshake between Squid and Google is completing.

The 770 can connect direct to Google Talk on port 5223, but I want to get
the proxy working. I've tried setting the proxy bypass setting for my IAP to
talk.google.com and google.com, but this doesn't seem to affect the chat
client.

Is this a known problem?

Thanks,

Randy
