Is the public version safe to flash on a summit pre-production device?

The community testing email pointed to both "legacy devices only" and
"all other testers" firmware images, and I used the former.

hostname, set by default, tends to indicate a different version of the
firmware than is actually running.  Are there any downsides to changing the
network host name?

No changes. I have downloaded the file today from 
http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php and compared it with the one 
we got earlier and they are identical both in file name and file data.

firmware for all N900 owners.

I'm one of the testers that had the possibility to install and test PR
1.1 (aka 1.2009.51).

What are the changes between the version that testers installed few
weeks ago and this 1.2009.51-1 version released today?
