How do you know that you don't need them?

the processes run by the phone down. Conky shows me that i have 212 active
processes and 76% of the Ram usage. There is nothing I can do except

Exactly where did you verify it on maemo.org? As I said, promoting
something to Extras does *not* create an entry in
maemo.org/downloads/, as far as I'm aware.

I've re-included maemo-users, so Niels can say whether or not the
import from Extras to Downloads was a one-time operation.

Hope that helps,

Andrew

I think I may have solved my problem; I'm pretty sure I'm still
running OS2008 Beta. Going to try an upgrade and check back in.

Yup, that did it. Seems the software from the OS2008-beta is a
little outdated compared to the official release. Skype, running. Oddly
enough, it didn't install from the repo though (claimed it was
corrupted), I had to download it from Skype's page. In any event, hope
my oversights help others!

I got skype, gizmo and a few others to install by changing my
repositories from repository.maemo.org to repostory.maemo.org. This
was posted as a work around on ITT last week and seems to work

Ok, I'm bricked -- need help...

2007-09-12 Thread Tim

Hi, again...

So, I sent the below email before I actually rebooted my N800. I
have since and... Well, it won't restart! It shows the Nokia logo and
progress bar. When it gets to the end of the progress bar, the startup
chime sounds (the one that usually happens with the "hands" graphic.
But, it sticks on the Nokia logo and full progress bar. I can turn
the device off and back on again, but this happens every time

Any advice?

Thanks<

Hi,

I ran a few updates in "red pill mode" (a couple of lib files). Now
GPE and Claws-Mail won't run. Has anyone else experienced something
like this?

Thanks,

Need help with figuring out if something is a bug or not (Maemo Recorder)...

2007-04-19 Thread Tim
After installing Maemo Recorder, it becomes the default player for
when I open audio files from the File Manager. Is this a bug or just
a setting that I have to change somewhere?
If it's a bug, I'll report it, etc., etc.
 Thanks,
 Tim

[maemo-users] glurp: New Port, need help

2006-07-03 Thread Andrew Barr
Hi, I recently discovered the joys of the Music Player Daemon (MPD;
http://www.musicpd.org/) and additionally I've discovered an ideal client to
be ported to the Nokia 770--it's called glurp
(http://www.musicpd.org/glurp.shtml). I've compiled it in scratchbox and it
runs on my device, but I would like to do a proper port, utilizing IAP
connectivity, the hard keys, and all that. To that end, I've tried following
the "port existing application" tutorial on maemo.org, but there is a major
difference between Gaim and Glurp--Glurp uses Glade to do it's GUI. I'm
getting hung up on what kind of changes might be required to Glurp's source
code to integrate it into Maemo. I tried doing the other stuff (.desktop
file; dbus .service file; LD_PRELOAD for IAP) without changing the source
code, but that didn't work--presumably because there was no real D-BUS
service for Glurp--it either wouldn't start or closed shortly after
launching. Any tips on porting a Glade app to Maemo would be greatly
appreciated.
