Fair enough, but XP is still the most used Windows version used by roughly half of all Windows users [1], so mandriva-seed is still useful for a lot of people. [Mageia-dev] Need the help of a gnome dev for gsplash
Hi, I am looking at creating a splash for gnome, however, when looking for the relevant code, I couldn't find it anywhere. There were some parts of theme in svn/soft/theme/ia_ora-gnome, however I couldn't see anything relevant to a splash screen. On further investigation, it seemed that the splash was removed by upstream. Is there any thoughts on how to proceed with this, or are we planning on not shipping a splash screen? (#652) possibly, it wen like this: A) language is asked, (for me it's Dutch (.nl)) B) keyboard layout is asked (for me, it's Belgian layout; selected by default) C) default country is set for that choosing from multiple options (mine is belgium? not Netherlands) - selecting tiny fonts when updating (#67) - updates: 300 packages; 350MB - error: HAL not working when trying to install updates (#1024) - updates did not happen

Re: [Mageia-dev] Suggestion: what to do with iso?
Hello! I remember that when I created a usb from ISO I had some strange problem making the USB bootable. Maybe some comment on how to do that? I don't remember how I did it then, but I assume using fdisk or something? Dismount the USB, fidks /dev/sdb1 (or whatever it could be on the users computer) and change the bootable flag (?). And a comment on how to find the device for the USB. Other than that this looks like a good design. The only one small problem I notice is with drakxservices. drakxservices display that vboxadd-timesync is stopped when "service vboxadd-timesync status" return running.

Re: [Mageia-dev] Suggestion: what to do with iso?
Hello! I think it would be a good idea to have clear instructions on how to put it on a USB. I bought a netbook a couple of years ago, and I couldn't get any distribution to install except Ubuntu Netbook Edition, and that's not the one I wanted, so instructions on how to get Mageia to install from USB would definitely be a good idea. In addition, I've noticed that nowadays a lot of non-netbooks laptops with 12" screens also ship without DVD-player so it's becoming a bigger problem (unless you have an external DVD-drive). Since Mageia comes from Mandriva, maybe instructions on how to create the USB from Windows and from Mandriva (and maybe from a desktop/other laptop install of Mageia)? [Mageia-dev] Request for Comment: #201 (which blocks #56)
https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201 Should this patch be put in or not? Either way we'll have to update status of this issue.
