I only suggested to try a solution for kde.
The idea behind was to know if the fix need to be eventually in drak3d (if it
's working in kde) rather then compiz itself.

Hi,

I will submit a new compiz (latest git) this evening, hopefully it will
correct your problems (at least in part) and not introduce too much other.

Cheers

You'd need "compiz --replace ccp" there I think. And a & on the end is
normally a good idea too unless you want to keep that terminal open for
ever :D

GNOME 3 uses mutter. Only fallback mode uses metacity and you could
replace that with compiz. You can force fallback mode with System
Settings. How to switch window managers per standard no idea, but
something like:
  compiz --replace
should work

What about Gnome?? Due to problems with KDE and Evolution, I am forced
to use Gnome (3.2) right now - so how do I enable Compiz under Gnome??
 BTW, I shut off Compiz using Drak3d - but I can't re-enable it with
that tool due to the renaming issue.

Could you try to configure compiz directly inside kde instead of using drak3d ?

Update - when I turn Compiz off - things are back to "normal" - so I
suspect the new compiz is broken.

[Mageia-dev] Major issues after latest updates

2011-11-29 Thread Robert Fox
Since the recent Cauldron updates - I am having serious issues under KDE
and Gnome 3.2 - I think it has something to do with the latest Compiz -
Now the mouse is no accurate (can't click directly on anything - it is
slightly over and to the left) - and compiz appears to be broken.

Drak3d does not work because of the name change (from compiz-fusion to
compiz)

And strangely, I can't ope Evolution main under KDE or Gnome 3.2 (but it
works under Gnome Classic)

Not sure if these are related.

R.Fox
