Jeff Robins skrev 17.7.2011 04:26: -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 Hello, I updated my system and it installed the latest kernel (2.6.38.8-desktop). When I rebooted the system it hung when starting udev. I shut down the system after 1 minute. When I booted into kernel 2.6.38.7-desktop, udev started in less than 10 seconds. Also, neither kernel/udev created the /dev/dvd or /dev/sr0 symlinks. When I created the /dev/dvd symlink I had to change the permission of the original device to 0x666 from 0x660 so that the software could play the DVD. Is anyone else having this problem? Ouch, Can you try kernel-linus-2.6.38.8-1 to rule out (or not) additional patches in core kernel... -- Thomas
