Yeaaahh!
New clutter 1.9.8 fixed this. G-S is back to good speed again...

Just a little minor bug(?): in GDM, when you click on the password text
field, you have no cursor until you begin to write, so you are not sure
if you are typing in the correct place... but I can live with that.

Some assistance would be very welcome yeah. Suggest to contact ebassi.
We've replaced (upgraded) clutter, gnome-shell and mutter by now. I
guess something needs to be rebuild.

Do I need to rebuild anything locally for testing? Tried a fully updated
system (new gtk, new g-s) and it's still busted :(

Yup, now seems like a good time to push this.

This did not fix the problem, but it looks that got fixed in gnome-shell GIT:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1910576

I lokeed at GIT repo for gnome-shell, and the latest commit is to require
updated GTK3 and GLIB. Latest are glib-2.31.12 and gtk+-3.3.10 (se have
2.31.10 and 3.3.8 in Cauldron now).
As next gnone-shell version will require them, I think it is a good time to
update, and looks safe wrt rest of apps

Layout loop probably refers to the 100% CPU hog.

On Tue, learned that Fedora will roll back the cogl. Cogl/clutter
maintainer is looking at gnome-shell, but the changes shouldn't have
affected the module. Or in other words: difficult to investigate.

I haven't followed the discussion yesterday as my machine is unusable
and I already broke my backup machine. I should have IRC logs though.

Note: Didn't see any relevant fix/commit to gnome-shell/mutter.

Any news on this? I noticed a problem with mutexes but couldn't really
trace it.

Gnome-shell is unusably slow atm.

Too late for me ;)

Fallback mode works fine. So log in with 'Traditional Gnome' as a
workaround...
