Title:
Displaying group pages is set to Yes, but doesn't actually display
  the pages

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  In Progress

Bug description:
When you are in a group and want to add group pages to the dashboard,
you see in Edit mode that the Pages block is already included.
However, no group pages show up on the dashboard despite the fact that
for Display group pages is set to Yes. Only when you save the
block are the group pages displayed.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 788865] [NEW] The listing of groups in the sidebar does not indicate that there may be other groups as well

2011-05-26 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Public bug reported:

Groups are shown in the sidebar below the login box. If a user has a lot
of groups, only a select view are displayed. I think it's the order in
which the user joined the group.

It would be good to indicate that there are more than these 15 groups
accessible to me with a more... link to the My Groups page.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 788465] Re: Export Failing in 1.4rc1 - Zip not installed

2011-05-26 Thread Hugh Davenport
This happens when the actual command line zip/unzip isn't installed, but
phpinfo still reports zip capabilities.

We should change to using the zip functionality in php instead of
relying on system commands, or maybe as a fallback.

Cheers,

Hugh

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 788882] [NEW] Extracting zip files causes multiple empty folders to appear

2011-05-26 Thread Hugh Davenport
Public bug reported:

When I extract a zip file (attached) with multiple files in
subdirectories, the outcome is that multiple empty folders are created,
and some files are placed in the root directory instead of subfolders.

There is also a log (also attached) which happens when the 2nd
screenshot is displayed (extract-finished.png)

There are a few screenshots attached.

extract-start.png shows the files it plans to extract
extract-finish.png shows the finish screen (there were also error logs
for this step)

extract-after.png (folder displayed directly after clicking Continue)
extract-fisrt-folder.png (first folder in that directory listing, empty
(same with every folder except the 2nd (not always 2nd in subsequent
tries :P))
extract-in-second-folder.png (in the second folder, seems to have the
files, but all the folders within are empty)
extract-in-subfolder.png (showing emptyness of the subfolder, all are
the same)
extract-in-home-folder.png (more copys of empty folders (won't bother
with screenshots, and also all the missing files from the subdirectories)

Cheers,

Hugh

Title:
  directorypermissions setting not working

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
On the server our Mahara installation is hosted on, the Mahara
administrator (which is me) does not have server admin rights. So I
tried to change the directorypermissions setting, which is introduced
  in lib/config-defaults.php

I did not succeed, so I investigated further. In uploadmanager.php the
chmod command uses the constant value 0700 for the permissions instead
of the config value directorypermissions, so it seems the config value
  is not working and unused.

In my environment I need to change those default setting 0700, because
I'm not the server admin and backups are needed with every version
update. I changed the source code of Mahara as a quickdirty
workaround, but in further versions this problem could be avoided.

Mahara 1.3.6, OS Linux, Database MySQL, Firefox 3.6.14

having a trailing space on username doesn't work

Status in Mahara ePortfolio:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
I only noticed this when I was using MaharaDroid, and the input
autocompleted my username of hughdavenport, and when it autocompletes
it puts a ' ' after it. The app then said I had an invalid token,
though it was correct, removing ' ' made it work.

This also happens in manual login.

Wishlist most likely, but it would be a good idea to trim entered
usernames or something, as a space is not allowed in the username
(according to the error message that comes up when adding a username
  with a space)

  Cheers,

  Hugh

If mahara is upgraded from 2007011800, the default quota is 10485760 (10MB)
(/artefact/file/db/upgrade.php:57)

If for some reason the default isn't in the database when configuring the
file artefact, then the
  default is 1024 * 1024 * 10 (10MB) (/artefact/file/lib.php:1075)

They should all be the same here.

This probably isn't a big issue as there was only 1 version of this
artefact before 2007011800 (9 days prior)

Hi Francois,
To be honest I'm not 100% sure. Export was working prior to 1.4 regardless.

James, are the zip command line utilities installed on the pre-
production server?

Cheers,

Hugh: we're actually leaning towards the opposite (getting rid of the
php extension). See bug 785467 for the reasoning.

Scott: Have you got the zip/unzip command line utilities installed on
your system?

Could this be a 1.4 bug?
