[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 793371] [NEW] Leap import from moodle doesn't give confirmation

2011-06-06 Thread Michael Ditsch
Public bug reported:

When I import a forum post from moodle using Leap, I would expect it to give
some
sort of confirmation that it was imported correctly, and my browser gets
delivered to
the journals page (where the data was imported).

Instead, there is no confirmation, and my browser gets taken only to the
dashboard.
I find this a but confusing, and think it would be a good idea to give some
confirmation
and link to the imported location.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 530656] Re: WYSIWYG Editor for Editing View Text Boxes is not available in Full Screen Mode

2011-06-06 Thread Richard Mansfield
There's an older hack/workaround for the textbox block tinymce height in
commit 55a8feadbe, commissioned by Dirk Meyer. Autoresize was a better
solution, so I removed the textbox workaround, but maybe we should
consider putting it back if we no longer have autoresize.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 792996] Re: If Gravatar is enabled, the no default profile picture means choose Gravatar

2011-06-06 Thread François Marier
I'm not sure we need another option. I mean providing default images
instead of the mystery person is the whole point of enabling Gravatar.
Those who don't want their pictures to show up on various sites should
not have a Gravatar account.

However, I agree that the UI is confusing. Maybe what we need to do is
rephrase that Use no default button to something else. Remote avatars
or not, it's pretty confusing already.

Bug description:
When institutions have a custom theme in Mahara, it is applied.
However, what happens when you are a member of two or even more
institutions? Which theme is chosen then?

It would be good for a user to be able to choose her default theme and
not let Lady Fortuna ;-) decide that for her. E.g. if a teacher is a
member of her school institution but at the same time also of an
organizational community that both have custom themes, she may only
want to see her school theme except when she is in a training session
and during a presentation of her work in the community. At the moment,
the organizational community's theme may always be the one that is
visible which can be disadvantageous when she wants to demo her
portfolio during school activities when everybody else has the school
  theme displayed.

  1) COPY COLLECTION: I am anxiously awaiting the release of a copy
collection feature as is being discussed at
  http://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=2210. I am setting
Mahara up for a university, and I am actually very surprised not to
find this kind of feature available. I'm sure most schools require a
certain required layout for their portfolios and could really
  appreciate this feature.

  2) ADMIN COPY COLLECTION: To go even further with this, I would even
say that the ability for the admin to copy a collection into new user
accounts would be a great feature. I think most schools do add users
in from the admin side and as they set up the accounts. This would
enable them to tick off a collection copy (or a least a set of views
for now) that would be added to the user before the user's account is
even first logged into by the user.

I'm now having to instruct students to copy the 5 views necessary from
a sample student profile and then instruct them on how to create
their own collection to make their portfolio in accordance with
  university requirements.

the profile pictures as well and it should be possible to choose any
of the 6 or none. At the moment it is not transparent that the
Gravatar can actually be displayed as there is no mention of it on the
Profile Pictures page. Only the site admin knows if gravatars are
  allowed or not.

It would get even more complicated if Libravatar becomes possible:
  Which remote avatar takes precedence?

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 780237] A change has been merged

2011-06-06 Thread Mahara Bot
Reviewed: https://reviews.mahara.org/140

http://gitorious.org/mahara/mahara/commit/a5887e1c500ad4640934962731ed78e819b58fdd

Branch:master

commit a5887e1c500ad4640934962731ed78e819b58fdd
Author: Hugh Davenport h...@catalyst.net.nz
Date: Wed May 11 14:12:05 2011 +1200

Fix autogen of wwwroot to detect symbolic links correctly

Test by appending each directory in PHP_SELF to DOCUMENT_ROOT
when the realpath of that is the same as dirname(__FILE__) then
stop processing.

For most users there is little performance hit, only a few will
have more than say two levels above DOCUMENT_ROOT

If nothing can be autoconfigured, use a default of root (ie no
path)
