Or maybe instead, a blank title should really mean 'no title' and there should be a checkbox on some of the blocks saying stuff like "use the blog's title". Just having a simple WYSIWYG editor could be enough? Has anyone else requested something similar? Do you think it could work? Is it needed? Even if there was the function to link to a 'View' with the evidence in? Sam Comment by Kristina Hi Sam, We have discussed revamping the resumé builder somewhat and adding a WYSIWYG editor to it was one thing that I also wanted to have there (desparately). We also thought of making it possible to add file attachments (that might have been requested by somebody in the forums as well, but I can't remember). Your idea can be taken further: Have a view selector where you can choose the views to be displayed easily without having to hunt down their URL. That feature could also be useful in other parts of Mahara where you might want to link to a view but not make it part of a collection navigation. I opened a wishlist item to keep track of it more easily. If others are interested in such a feature, please add yourself to "This bug affects me" (though it is not a bug, but Launchpad only works with bugs and the status can be changed to wishlist) and add your comments if you have any. Recent Blog Post Activity This block could list the Blog titles by those where the most recent posts have been made. - Line one, lists the blog where the most recent post was published, or saved as a draft. The blog title could be hyperlinked to take the person directly to that blog's editing panel (where all posts are listed and they can add new post, edit previous posts). There could also be an "+ New Post" to the right of the title, which would allow a single click access to writing a new reflection within a commonly used post. - The second line would be similar to the first, except it would list the blog with the second most recent activity. Even if the first blog contains the 5 most recent posts, this block could rank BLOGs by their activity type. - and so on... listing the five recent Blogs with activity. I suppose this is a Wish-list item, but I think it would greatly improve the capacity to encourage student reflections. Currently, once logged in, it takes at least three clicks to post a new item in a blog (MyPortfolio>Blogs>New post), but it might take as more if the blog is listed on a second or third page of the blog-panel. The concept is to create a "Recent Blog Post Activity" module that shows up only when the Dashboard View editing panel is present, and is perhaps already listed in the default dashboard-view. On the group homepage I can hardly put anything except external feeds and video. What if I want to display an internal image, e.g. the club logo? It would also be good to have the other artefacts. A group view could be used to collect information about all group members, e.g. skills, goals, other profile info. Students could also use it as a one-stop place to show all their internal Mahara blog posts (similar to Pageflakes etc.). Therefore, I would not limit the artefacts to the currect ones. It is also not possible to copy a view that contains blog posts. Currently, that makes sense because groups don't have blogs as artefacts. If the blog posts retain the "posted by [the original author]" (which IMHO should be a requirement when copying views already due to antiplagiarism), then there is also no question about ownership of a blog post. This means that if a user decides that they don't want the collection anymore and cancel then the view access is already updated and they have lost original settings on views. The user might also just add a view and then immediately decide that wasn't the right decision and remove from the list. This is an issue for both new and existing collections. The help file does mention this is going to happen, but I'm thinking it is not the most appropriate event for access updating to occur on anyway. Solutions might be to: For new collections: a) update access only on the final stage when user saves collection completely b) alert user somehow that views are going to have their access updated when they navigate past the views page For existing collections: a) only update when the user is completely finished with the page (clicking 'Done') and ensure it is clear that the access will be updated at this time Any other ideas? This might also help occasionally with Bug# 702173 by limiting the view list a bit. The issue of collections not able to be "submitted" (views only, Bug# 617376) would mean that this would probably be done by querying whether or not views shared with the group belong to collections and separating them out into each list within the blocktype code. This would be particularly interesting if you want to publish your entire resume and not just individual fields. If that's the case, then the other emails should be discarded and a warning sent to the site admin.
