[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1697909] Re: LTI (Canvas) gives exception: WebserviceInvalidParameterException

2017-07-10 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Implementation idea in succinct fashion:

If an LTI parameter is unknown and prefixed with 'custom_', drop it from
the data passed to the handler function. Then if the site is in non-
production mode, throw an error rather than dropping the data.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1703465] [NEW] Masquerading sessions show deleted users

2017-07-10 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Public bug reported:

when you select people to report over for masquerading sessions, people
who have been deleted show up if the person you are reporting over is an
admin as the masquerading sessions display both who you has masqueraded
and who is being masqueraded.

Thus, if users were deleted from the system, but you are reporting over
the site admin who masqueraded as them before the deletion, the deleted
user data shows up, i.e. the "Deleted user
(pitpalmer.deleted.1459025466.5...)" and the masquerading reason, admin
and time.

Since the users are deleted, that data should not be displayed anymore.

Title:
Deleting group journal entry for non-admin users

Status in Mahara:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Mahara: 16.10.4
  DB: Postgres
  OS: Linux
  Browser: any

Related to bug #1666102 (group member can delete journal).

When a non-admin group member tries to delete a group journal's
entries (i.e. not the whole journal), the page displays delete buttons
next to the entry. But, in actual fact, the entries cannot be deleted
(which is correct behaviour). This could make users confused. Please
  see attached screen shot.

Perhaps don't display the delete button for users who cannot perform
this action. Or, display page "Access denied... You do not have
access" (as currently happens when trying to delete the whole
  journal).

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1702434] Re: Error in site statistics

2017-07-10 Thread Kristina Hoeppner
Hi Juan. Thank you for the screenshot. That is a generic error message
on the front-end that is typically accompanied by a more explicit one in
the error log. Sometimes, you need to navigate away from the page in
order for the error message to show up.

If you are on a testing instance, you could turn on the debug mode and
print error messages to the screen. Without any error message and not
being able to replicate the issue, it's hard to find the cause.

In your config.php you can add the following:

$cfg->productionmode = false;

Or if you want to be more discerning, check out /lib/config-defaults.php
to see the other options.

Mahara fails to validate Moodle installation where login is required

Status in Mahara:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
We're standing up Mahara 17.02 on RHEL 7 with PHP 5.6.5 and MariaDB
10.1. We're setting up integration with a Moodle 3.1 environment. This
Moodle environment uses CAS for authentication, with login required.
There is no default view for unauthenticated users. When we added
Moodle as a peer for Mahara (in Mahara), it tried and failed to
validate the existence of the Moodle environment:

  [WAR] 32 (lib/peer.php:164) file_get_contents(https://): failed to
open stream: Redirection limit reached, aborting

On the Moodle side I can see numerous redirects to /login/index.php.

Oddly, SSO from Moodle to Mahara now seems to work, despite the
verification failure. I wouldn't have expected that, and that might be
  a bug in itself.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1670637] Re: Sessions directories missing after upgrade to 16.10 and php 7.1 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

2017-07-10 Thread Robert Lyon
Hi Cristiano,

According to the PHP manual, http://php.net/manual/en/function.session-
id.php

"Depending on the session handler, not all characters are allowed within
the session id. For example, the file session handler only allows
characters in the range a-z A-Z 0-9 , (comma) and - (minus)!"

So it sounds like we should allow more characters for the session paths.

Looking at
http://php.net/manual/en/session.configuration.php#ini.session.sid-
length it seems that a few new options were introduced in PHP 7.1

Currently our session bits_per_character is set to handle the option '4'

We will need to expand this so it handles option '5', and '6' as well

Cheers

Robert

Title:
Be able to tab to "More options" icon on "Pages and collections"

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  Mahara 17.04+

User should be able to tab to "More options" icon. Currently, when
user is focused on a page or collection link, pressing tab takes the
user to "Access rules" instead of moving to "More options" when you
  are on "Pages and collections".
