Title:
Add a button to a page allowing to download it in Leap2A format

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  Suggestion from Shane Nuessler:

It would be nice if a Mahara page could have a button for users to download
the page as Leap2A file. This could be a setting in the "Allow copying" section
and a second option to not only allow copying but copying as Leap2A.

  Further thinking:
We could also think of implementing it differently if for example an
institution requires the keeping of portfolio pages. So for example if a
portfolio is submitted to a group, the tutor / admin sees the "Save as Leap2A"
button before releasing the portfolio so they could make a copy to keep. That
could be a manual option to what is proposed at
https://wiki.mahara.org/index.php/Developer_Area/Specifications_in_Development/Moodle_LTI_integration
where a copy could be kept automatically.

Title:
Button to reliably copy secret URLs

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Hi Team!
Another Wishlist item - this time regarding copying secret URL's.
At the moment we rely on students and staff to accurately select all of the
secret URL as seen in attached screenshot.

This can be a hit and miss affair and leaving off even one character
  results in a broken link.

My wish is for a "Copy link to clipboard" button - to make the
  select/copy process simple and painless.

This feature can be seen on any Web2 app where someone has to copy
embed code (eg. youtube, prezi) and just makes it easy.

  Thanks very much.
  Shane.

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
  Im on 17.04.2.

When on "My Tags" page (/tags.php), clicking on a tag with special
characters to search for it returns nothing. This is because in the
query, the special characters are replaced. The tag block is affected
by this as well, but only on the "My Tags" page. It works well on the
other page such as Journals and Pages and Collections.

I found this by having the tag #test. When I search for it from the
"My Tags" page, the page shows "Search results for %23test"

So far, i've confirmed the problem with:
  # -> %23
  @ -> %40
  é -> %C3%A9
  è -> %C3%A8

parameters to the config.php file:

outgoing emails no matter the recipient.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Log in as ‘Site admin’.
2. Navigate to Administration menu > Configure site > Site options.
3. Click the 'Account seetings' drop-down menu.
4. Set the 'Default account inactivity time' to 1 day and click the 'Update

lastlastlogin='2018-01-12 09:10:17' where username='admin';'
7. Run the cron manually by adding /lib/cron.php to the end of the wwwroot of
your site.

Expected result: The content of the Account inactivity warning email
that is sent to the user looks like the following:

Dear xxx,

Your account on Mahara will become inactive on 1 February 2018.

Once inactive, you will not be able to log in until an administrator re-
enables your account.

You can prevent your account from becoming inactive by logging in.

Improve inactivity and expiry warning messages

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
  The account inactivity email is:

Your account on Mahara ePortfolio System will become inactive within
  1095 days.

Once inactive, you will not be able to log in until an administrator
  re-enables your account.

You can prevent your account from becoming inactive by logging in.

Regards, Mahara ePortfolio System site administrator

Please do not reply to this message.

  -

I suggest the following changes to make it easier to read:

  1.
=> Instead of mentioning the number of days, can we give the exact date, i.e.
"will become inactive on 14 December 2019."?

If that is not possible, "within" should be changed to "in" as it is
an exact date and not a date range. If possible, please also change
the days to something more sensible like "3 years" for large numbers
or months if it is more than 31 days to make it easier for people to
  see.

  2.
"{site} site administrator" should sit on it's own line right below
"Regards,".

Allow SAML plugin to have custom auth error message - like Xmlrpc

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
With Xml-rpc auth method there is an admin field that allows the admin
to set an error message that shows if a person tries to login
internally alerting them of how to login properly.

This looks to be a useful feature of that auth plugin

This patch adds the same functionality to the SAML plugin. So if a
user tries to login internally instead of via IdP it will alert the
  message set by admin

Title:
  Test for footer headings display

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
The current behat test admin/create_and_delete_menu_item.feature has a
partial test for showing and hiding elements of the footer:

And I enable the switch "Terms and conditions"
And I disable the following switches:
   | Privacy statement |
   | About |
   | Contact us |
  And I press "Save changes"
# Checking the switches held the setting
And the following fields match these values:
   | Terms and conditions | 1 |
   | Privacy statement | 0 |
   | About | 0 |
   | Contact us | 0 |

As part of the process of tidying up the behat tests, this
functionality should be removed from this test and a new test created
  called footer_settings.feature.

The new test should have 2 scenarios, one to check the settings as
above as admin, but also to check that the selected footer settings
are displayed on the homepage to a user.

The second scenario should check that when the user clicks on the
footer links, correct content is displayed, specifically that the
headings are not repeated (Bug #1683551)

2018-01-23 Thread Niranjan
** Changed in: mahara

- This should be a user test, not admin as we want to check that a user can add
pages and collections.
- Remove the unnecessary test for login successful.
- This is the primary test for adding a page/collection, so does it manually
rather than in the background. (All other tests should do it in the background
though!)

Title:
Participation report doesn't show pages in a collection

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress
Status in Mahara 18.04 series:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  seen in Mahara 17.04

The group participation report is supposed to display pages shared
with the group and created within a group. However, it only displays
pages when they are not in a collection. As soon as they are in a
  collection, they are not displayed.

The report should be altered to show "portfolios" shared or created
within the group, i.e. individual pages when they are not in a
collection and a collection (with the number of pages in parentheses)
  when there is a collection.

For collections, the comment count should be across all pages that are
  in the collection.

Title:
  Get an HTML5 "click-to-copy" widget

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
In Bug 1314890, on the Secret URLs page we added the zeroclipboard
library to allow users to click a clipboard icon and have the URL
copied to their clipboard. Unfortunately, since then Flash has started
dying in a bad way, and now this sort of Flash-based clipboard widget
is on the way out, and can cause browsers to pop up warning messages
  and such.

Now, there is no way to accomplish exactly this same functionality
(copy to clipboard) without Flash currently. But, there are some
useable alternatives. The one that seems to be poised to replace the
click-to-copy pattern, is that you click and it automatically selects
the full text, so that you then just have to hit "control-C" instead
of first dragging to select it all.

Jen recently added this little clipboard library to the styleguide.php
script. It works pretty good, so we may as well adopt it for the
  Secret URL screen as well.

Title:
Remove "Mobile access token" from account settings

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
With Mahara 16.10 we introduced Mahara Mobile, the new mobile app for
Mahara and with it the "App" settings that are managed on
  /module/mobileapi/apps.php

We still show the "Mobile access tokens" on /account/index.php though
and on /admin/site/options.php when a site has been upgraded to 16.10.
These settings should be removed as they are confusing. Both
MaharaDroid and Portfolio Up are not in active development and do not
necessarily work with modern devices. Mahara Mobile allows any user to
connect, not just with internal accounts.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1334576] Re: Read notifications are not deleted

2017-11-06 Thread Niranjan
URL: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1334576

Bug description: Allowing admin setting for internal notification
expiry.

Environment to be tested: Master
Browser to be tested: Any browser

Precondition:
1. A user with 'Site admin' access should exist.
2. Notifications in the ‘Site admin’ account are not set to ‘None’.
3. ‘Site admin’ should have existing system generated emails in the inbox with
the following notification types,
-Page access notifications.
-Watch list notifications.
-Institution messages.
4. Make the changes in the database with the following command, so that the
notifications are older than 2 days but not as old as
182 days.

 “update notification_internal_activity set ctime = '2017-11-02
12:13:14';”

Steps to reproduce:

1. Log in as a site admin user.
2. Navigate to Administration menu > Configure site > Site options
3. Click the ‘Notification settings’ panel.

Expected result: A new field ‘Internal notification expiry’ should be
present and the default days should be displayed as ‘182’.

4. Click the ‘Help’ icon.

Expected result: The following text should be displayed

The following notification types will be deleted from your inbox after the
specified days have elapsed:
-Page access notifications
-Watchlist notifications
-Institution messages

5. Change the ‘Internal notification expiry’ to ‘2’ days.
6. Click the ‘Update site options’ button.
7. Run the cron manually by adding /lib/cron.php to the end of the www root of
your site.
8. Type the URL of your Mahara site in the browser's address bar as you'll be
on a blank page only once the cron finished running.

Note: Refreshing the page wouldn't help as the URL would still be the
cron URL and thus you wouldn't actually get to a better page.

9. Navigate to User menu > Inbox.

Expected result: All the system generated emails which are older than 2
days should not be displayed.

small fixes to some behat tests

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
There are some badly formatted tests, with background steps in the
  scenario:

  test/behat/features/user_content/search_users_by_share_pages.feature
  compare with test/behat/features/social/sharedwithme.feature.
Could this be a scenario in the other test?
   - regardless, the format should be changed. This is not testing adding
pages, so add the pages in the background using the generic format data.

  test/behat/features/social/modified_date.feature
   - put background into background.
   - is this already covered in
test/behat/features/site_content/shared_views_to_group.feature?

When you add an annotation block, you are supposed to be required to
provide an annotation in order to say why you align your portfolio
  with a particular standard.

The "Annotation" field (no matter whether added via the SmartEvidence
map or as block) can be left empty though now when saving the block

The field should not be left empty though as the annotation is a vital
  aspect.

  To replicate:

  1. Add a collection with a SmartEvidence map.
  2. Add an annotation via the SmartEvidence map.

Expected result: You can't save the configuration dialogue without typing an

2017-08-31 Thread Niranjan
Bug description: Creating a new topic in forum is throwing an warning
message

Environment to be tested: Master branch

select * from interaction_forum_instance_config;
3.Delete ‘Forum instance’ from the table using below query in database.
delete from interaction_forum_instance_config where field='createtopicusers'
and forum=30;
4. Log in to Mahara as a group admin.
5. Navigate to Main menu > Groups.
6. Select ‘Forums’ tab.
7. Click on ‘General discussion’ forum.
8. Select ‘New topic’ button.
9. Similarly, log in as ‘User A’ and repeat steps 5 to 8.

Review behat add_tags.feature - check tags displayed

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
This test currently tests that tags can be added, but not that they
  are saved and displayed.

  To do:
Change log in from admin to UserA, as that is more relevant.
Change the tags to words not already found in the pages, i.e, not folder,
journal, plan, page etc. I suggest adding one tag that is repeated one or more
times and one individual tag.
Then add steps each time tags are saved to follow the tags button in the
right-hand column and confirm the correct tags are displayed.

In addition add a step at the end to confirm that if a particular
repeated tag is chosen, the correct elements - E.g. page, plan,
journal with that tag - appear on the page.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1699910] [NEW] An Error message should be displayed while sharing a page and not specifying whom to share.

2017-06-22 Thread Niranjan
Public bug reported:

When we try to save a page while sharing it to friends, users or friends
we have to search for them before sharing. In case if we dont specify
that particular friend, user or friends and clcik on saving it does
nothing. I think it is better to display an error message when we don't
specify on saving.

Here are the steps to reproduce:

1)Create a page and click on edit this page
2)Click on share button
3) Select share with drop down and select Friends( you can even select Groups
or Users)
4) Now click on save without searching for a friend

Result: It does nothing

Expected Result: It should display an error message saying please
specify atleast one friend(Kristina to decide the correct wordings for
error message) . Similar to groups and users

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1693063] [NEW] Remove Results per page option while editing the dashboard

2017-05-23 Thread Niranjan
Public bug reported:

When we have more than 10 Results on the dashboard there is an option at
the bottom of the home page to select 1, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 to
choose from. when we select one of the option it displays the results
accordingly, but in the similar way when we try to edit the dashboard we
have results per page at the bottom of the page ( it is only visible if
you have more than 10 results on the dashboard).

I am able to choose results per page but it does nothing, when contacted
Rob he suggested to remove the Results per page option while editing the

Behat test for shared access to pages

Status in Mahara:
  In Progress

Bug description:
There isn't a good test for sharing page access.

It would be good to have a test that creates a number of pages and
users and confirms that the users whom the pages are shared with are
the only ones that have access to them.

So the test should go to pages and collections, set the access to a
particular role, group or individual and confirm that the people
shared with are the ones that have access.

There are tests that start to test this function, but they don't
comprehensively test it.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1664582] Re: Journal comments can't be viewed on a page

2017-03-22 Thread Niranjan
I have tested it on

Mahara version: 15.10.0
OS: Windows and OSX
Browser: Chrome Version 53, Firefox 51, Safari

and the result is same, the modal doesn't open up but the page jumps to
top. I have used the steps to reproduce by using the previous comments
from Kristina.

Anonymous comment area needs a label for the "Comment" text field

Status in Mahara:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  Mahara 15.10+

When you add a comment as anonymous user, i.e. someone who is not
logged in, you need to provide your name first and then see a comment
text field (see screenshot). That text field doesn't have a label, but
I think it should have one so it's clear what it is for.

It is also a required field. Thus marking it as "Comment*" would be
  good.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1663437] [NEW] As group member I should see pages in group collections ( behat test)

2017-02-09 Thread Niranjan
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1663409 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1663409

Public bug reported:

While writing a Behat test I came across a error message showing up for
a pre condition.

Here is the test case for it

1)In a group, there should be 2 memebrs( pre condition)
2)UserA creates a collection with more than 2 pages( pre condition)
3)As UserB I should see the collection in " shared with me" screen
4)As USerA I must be able to delete the fist page of the collection

for the above 4th step I am unable to see pages in the group collection
and it is failing during the pre condition even if the owner and group
type are given.

Here is what I see when executing the behat test

And the following "collections" exist: #
BehatDataGenerators::the_following_exist()
  | title | description | ownertype | ownername |
pages|
  | Collection 01 | This is the collection 01 | group | Group Y |
Page 06, Page 12 |
  | Collection 02 | This is the collection 02 | group | Group Y |
Page 07 |
The page 'Page 06' does not exist or not belong to the user 'Group Y'.
(SystemException)

Page 06 is already a part og group Y in the above case.

Search box in configurable theme needs better outline

Status in Mahara:

Bug description:
When using the configurable theme, the search box looks a bit odd when
the search buttons have an outline as the outline is only for 3 sides
but not all 4 (see screenshot).

  I can see two options:

  1. Extend the button outline to the search box itself.
  2. Ensure that the 4th side of the button has the outline.

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1636850] Re: The pagination in the notes dialog while editing a page does not leave the first page

2016-11-02 Thread Niranjan
I could replicate it now by following the above steps.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a group and create a page
2) Add few Notes into page 1
3) Now create another page in the same group
4) And add few notes to the second page too( make sure you have more than 6
Notes in total)
5) Now Click on "USe Content from another one"
6) Click on Second page

Result: It says No results found as in the above screenshot

Title:
File extraction success screen 'continue' link hard to spot

Status in Mahara:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When one uploads a compressed file, say a .zip or .tar file to the
Files section there is a 'decompress' button the y can click to
  extract the files.

On clicking the button it gives a list of files that will be
decompressed and on clicking 'decompress' button it should give a
progress bar as files are extracted and then a message in the bar with
  success information and 'continue' link.

This message and link are hard to see.

It would be better if either:

  A) When the extraction is completed one is redirected to the place the
'continue' link goes to automatically and have the $session display
the ok message, eg 'Created 2 folders and 6 files' there to avoid
  needing an extra click here.

  or

  B) If that is not possible have the success message appear below the
progress bar rather than on it and make the font a bit bigger.

2016-10-27 Thread Niranjan
I have tested this on 16.10.0 with the following browsers

-Firefox 49.0 ( ubuntu and Sauce lab)
- Chrome 53.0.2785.143 (Built on Ubuntu & saucelab same version
-Safari 10.0

But I could replicate it on any of the browser, I am able to select all
the pages and I am able to see the notes as well.

Cheers,

[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 1631806] Re: Page descriptions not retained from group, institution and site pages

2016-10-16 Thread Niranjan
Hi cecelia,

Tested this and I found that when we navigate to groups>select a page>
pages> Create a page the page description is defaulted with the
following content," Set up the default layout for the pages that your
users create. You can also add blocks. Please note that any content you
add to the default page will appear on every page that your users
create." I think this should be blank

Other than that everything looks fine.

Tested back and I found that the pagination is not correct for newly

For every feedback added it is taken as 2 feedbacks and it shows wrong
number for the feedback.

Please look into it,

When feedback is placed on an annotation block, it is called
"Annotation", but it should be feedback.

In order to make it look more like the "Comments" on an artefact, it
should be changed like in the screenshot to include the "Comments"
icon and then "Feedback" with the count at the end.

The icon before "Place feedback" should be the one we use for "Add
  comment", but no text change.

Feedback and place feedback buttons are now shown on the page, but when

feedback is deleted it is still showing up and doesn't get deleted .
