[Mailman-Users] cannot discard messages using web interface

2016-04-20 Thread Camelia Botez
We have a problem on several mailing lists - the moderator cannot discard or
approve messages using web interface to administration of the list.
No matter what action we took the message still appears in Held Messages

Any idea how to fix this.

Re: [Mailman-Users] bouncing process does not return messages on user unknown

2015-06-03 Thread Camelia Botez
Thank you very much - indeed I checked and all the settings for bound process
are OK.
I checked also the maillog file for that particular mailing list and I saw
different values for status:
Stat : Service unavailable
Stat : Deferred
There are several external relay servers with verify=FAIL
Or Recipient address rejected: Greylisted

How mailman gets this status values ( as hard in bounce process ) , should it
send back error messages to the owner / sender .
I'm sorry to disturb you with my questions but I'm very confused - how the
mailing list gets back the errors and in what cases.

Again thank you

See the list's web admin Bounce processing page. Also see Mailman's 'bounce'
log.

Bounces are returned to Mailman. If the list's bounce_processing setting is No,
they are ignored. If Yes, they are handled according to the remaining settings.
List owners are not notified until a members bounce score reaches
bounce_score_threshold and the member's delivery is disabled, and then only if
bounce_notify_owner_on_disable is Yes

Beginning in 2.1.19, a list admin can request notification any time a member's
score is incremented.

These admin notices contain a copy of the triggering bounce.

[Mailman-Users] bouncing process does not return messages on user unknown

2015-06-02 Thread Camelia Botez
We run mailman-2.1.17 on rhel6 platform.
I have a list containing some unknown users.
When a messages is sent to this list , none of the administrators gets back a
message of unknown user .
The bounce does not send back the status of the message ( diferred , unknown
user etc).
How can I fix this?

[Mailman-Users] running mailman under CISCO LB

2013-06-27 Thread Camelia Botez
I have the following architecture:
CISCO LB using a virtual IP (VIP)
2 RHEL5 servers running mailman ( on each one of them mailman installed by rpm).
The mailman installation was done on each server separately and the only nfs
common between those servers is "/var/lib/mailman" ( coming from
Netapp volume w/r) containing archives , data , lists and spam directories.
When I create a list and I send mail to this list@server1 the mail arrives ,
but if I send the message to list@VIP the mail is lost.
There is something I should do in mailman config files to reflect this
architecture?
I need this in case one of the servers crashes.

Thank you
