[Mailman-Users] How to Back Up Lists
After some review of the list archives I do not find an answer to what I think will be a pretty simple question. How do I make backups of my lists? What files are critical? I want to back up the email addresses that are no the list as well as configuration information related to a specific list. Is there a way to export this information ... to lets say a tab delimited file? Thanks for any help you can offer. [Mailman-Users] amending (you can do this) someone's email address
In fact, Mailman does include a function to do this. You can use the command line clone_member command and not only change for a specific list but for all lists hosted by a particular Mailman program. Can I amend their email address for them or do they have to re-subscribe to the list using their new address? As far as I know, you can't amend the address as such - you need to unsubscribe the 'old' address and then resubscribe them using the new address (or you could tell them to do the same using their subscription page). [Mailman-Users] Multiple Mailing Lists
I have just installed mailman (pretty painless even for a non-sys-admin like me). It looks like it will work well. Now I am looking for some hints on how I may manage multiple lists centrally. In other words I would like my users to have as painless as possible experience managing their subscriptions. Here are a couple of questions: 1) ABOUT MMSITEPASS COMMAND What if my some odd chance a user selects the password set using the mmsitepass command? Will they be allowed to use that password? If so, they could in fact access anything ... right? Now with that in mind, what if I want to use the mmsitepass for various maintenance operations during a period of time and then remove it to tighten security. Can the password be revoked/removed and then re-invoked from time to time? 2) Is anyone using a single form to provide subscribe / unsubscribe requests to multiple lists?
