[Mailman-Users] Attachments

2004-09-28 Thread Fred Macondray
Greetings,

I attempted to approve and send a message to my announce-only list that had
a .jpg attachment.

The message went out, but without the original attachment.

The message that came through had the subscription options footer as a .txt
attachment.

How can I 1) configure mailman to send attachments and 2) avoid having the
footer come through as an attachment?

Thanks in advance,
Fred

[Mailman-Users] List Woes

2004-09-23 Thread Fred Macondray
Greetings,

I've got an active list (therefore can't really test things anymore) and
I've got a couple problems.

One:

When people reply to postings, the reply goes to both an explicit email
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and to the list posting address ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

and Two:

Messages sent to the list are not being rejected. Someone replied to the
last announcement and it went to everyone. This should be an announcement
only list.

How can I ensure that ONLY the following can happen?

1) ONLY the explicit reply to address is included in the announcements.

2) ONLY a few authorized addresses can send to the list?

Huge Thanks in Advance,

Fred

[Mailman-Users] Redirect reply's to list messages

2004-08-18 Thread Fred Macondray
Greetings All,

I just set up Mailman as provided by my hosting service.

I've currently got my list up and working so that the following are true:

1) The list is in "announce only mode"
2) A few authorized addresses can send email to the list
3) Unauthorized members and non-members get a rejection message when they
send to the list address.

What I would like to do is redirect all messages sent to the list by
unauthorized addresses to a specific address or to the list owner.

Is this possible? People have a tendency to reply with questions about the
announcement.

Thanks in advance,
fredimac

[Mailman-Users] Listowner.org is down

2004-08-18 Thread Fred Macondray
Greetings,

I was trying to get some assistance with some configuration issues from
listowner.org, but it's unavailable.

I would like my announce only list to 1) only post messages from a few
members and 2) to forward all replies to the list (ie re: subject) to the
poster or list owner. How can I set this up?

Thanks,
Fred
