This has all the earmarks of a cPanel Mailman - specifically 2.1.9-cp1? If so, this is a cPanel bug (fixed I think in 2.1.9-cp2). In any case, the problem is caused by an incorrect setting for PUBLIC_ARCHIVE_URL in mm_cfg.py. I.e., '/pipermail/%(listname)s' instead of 'http://%(hostname)s/pipermail/%(listname)s'. [Mailman-Users] domain in attached file url
I have the scrub list attatchment option turned on for this mailing lists so when an attatchment is sent to the list rather than emailing it to the subscribers, it creates a link at the bottom of the message that you are supposed to be able to click on and it downloads it via web browser. It used to work fine but for some reason lately it doesnt format the link correctly. In other words, its not adding the domain name to the front of the link. A person has to copy and paste the link then manually add the domain to the front. Here is an example: -- next part -- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Now for some reason the confirmation email when you send a mail to the mailing list is showing the old domain name, how i could change it? There is a script included with mailman called fix_url.py. If you run it without any arguments, it will give you usage instructions. This script is in the bin dir of the mailman install, which, if I recall correctly, is something like /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman in cpanel. If you don't have shell access to the server, you'll need to ask someone that does to do this for you. You/they may find it helpful to search the archives and FAQ for this list if the usage instructions from fix_url.py aren't clear enough or don't work as expected. One wrinkle that you may run into is that cpanel modifies mailman to append the domain name to the list directory. I'm not sure if that'll affect the fix_url.py script or not. If it doesn't work as the usage examples show, the script might need patched. I moved some lists from one cpanel system to another a few years ago and I can't recall if that was a problem or not. Re: [Mailman-Users] attachements question
hi! Where exactly are saved the atatchement files, also in which format uencoded or just like the original attachement file? thank you in advance! Or you can set up a cron job to go delete any attachments more than a certain age. Im assuming they self delete after a while because clicking on one of the link now indicates its not there. That implies that something else is going on. There is no standard cron job that I know of to clean out the old attachments. -- Brad Knowles, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. -- Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790), reply of the Pennsylvania Assembly to the Governor, November 11, 1755 SAGE member since 1995. [Mailman-Users] attachements question
Hi, Wondering if someone know the answer of this, made for one of our clients... With the mailman software for mailing lists, it has the option of scrubbing attatchments to the list and converts them to a link for people who are on the list to click on to get the attatchment rather than everyone having to download it. My question is, how long are these files saved for people to download and are they automatically deleted after a while? Is there a way for me to manually go in and delete them so they dont build up and take up server space? Im assuming they self delete after a while because clicking on one of the link now indicates its not there.
