[Mailman-Users] Emails not getting through to subscribers, but posted to archives
Greetings, Because of some other tests, I restarted mailman this morning on my server. I've encountered the problem that emails are not getting through to subscribers, but they are being posted to the archives. I would appreciate any sort of guidance as to how to troubleshoot this problem. [Mailman-Users] ISP Policies: Maintaining a clean reputation and getting the configurations right
Greetings, While we've managed to master keeping our reputation clean on CBL and Spamhaus, we're now getting pushback from the ISPs, critically, the older ones like earthlink.net, yahoo.com, and a few other similar ones. Not long ago, I had some issues regarding AOL; a list respondent was very helpful. Here is a link covering most of the major ISPs: ISP Summary Information http://wiki.wordtothewise.com/ISP_Summary_Information fyi, Max Pyziur p...@brama.com -- Mailman-Users mailing list Mailman-Users@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users Mailman FAQ: http://wiki.list.org/x/AgA3 Security Policy: http://wiki.list.org/x/QIA9 Searchable Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/mailman-users%40python.org/ Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/mailman-users/archive%40jab.org
[Mailman-Users] Google mail servers reply "Multiple destination domains per transaction is unsupported "

Is there a way for the sender (us) to be whitelisted, or is this matter handled at the receivers' end? [Mailman-Users] ISP policies, specifically AOL
Greetings, We've been using mailman for almost ten years (thank you). At our peak we have run about ten email lists: some discussion-oriented w/ small membership, and very low frequency; others that have had higher frequency and membership. In addition, two of them have been used to distribute monthly newsletters/announcements to a large membership (5,000 to 10,000 subscribers). Recently (in the last six months to a year), some ISPs have begun blocking these high volume/low-frequency distributions, in particular AOL. While AOL emails make up about 10% of the constituency of these lists, for us and our lists it is important that distributions reach these subscribers. It seems that AOL, among others, has insisted on some sort of pre-authentication procedures, so that large distributions from servers such as ours are effectively whitelisted. Have other mailman admins encountered these issues? Is this a foreshadowing of things to come? Much thanks. [Mailman-Users] Global vs list-specific settings
Greetings, I'm writing to verify the setting of send_reminders. For some of my disabled lists I have send_reminders yet today (the 1st of the month) I see notifications being sent out. I checked the setting for mailman, mailman's superuser, and see that send_reminders is set to 'Yes' Does the mailman send_reminders setting override individual lists' send_reminders settings. It seems that it does, but I am writing to verify this. [Mailman-Users] Using robots.txt
Greetings Mailman's email lists are visible search engine spiders from http://www.somedomain.com/pipermail/emaillistname/etc However, /pipermail is an alias of /var/mailman/archives/public/ per mailman.conf I've tried placing a basic robots.txt file at /var/mailman/archives/public/ and set permissions to 644. However, my lists still get spidered. Any suggestions on where to place the robots.txt file to prevent spidering? Thanks! [Mailman-Users] Unable to open list admin page
Greetings, I've been using mailman since about 2004; currently, I am running version 2.1.5. We have about ten different lists on our server. Everything has been functioning well until today (quite a record). We have one list with several thousand emails. We wanted to see if we could find and remove those email addresses that have gotten stale or invalid. Consequently, we adjusted the bounce processing settings. Now, we can't log in to that particular list's admin page (all other lists do no have this problem). After typing the password and hitting enter, the web browser appears to be authenticating, but after an extensive period shows a message to the effect "Internal Server Error." It seems that this would indicate some sort of corrupted file or data. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? Much thanks.
