[Mailman-Users] Cloning a list

2004-09-21 Thread Mike Cullum
After much trial and error I have created a set of list settings that works
very well. Now, I would like to create others that are essentially the
same. Is there any way that I can clone all of the settings from the
correctly configured list?

Thanks,

[Mailman-Users] False Moderator Requests?

2004-08-23 Thread Mike Cullum
Greetings,

We have just begun using mailman and are discovering it's mysteries. Please
be patient with ignorant questions!

I have a dozen lists, none actively used yet, that are set up ready to
convert people from our old list processor. This morning each list sent an
email from the listhame-bounces address to the listname-owner with the
following message:

--
The [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list has -1 request(s) waiting for your
consideration at:

http://domain/mailman/admindb/listname

Please attend to this at your earliest convenience. This notice of
pending requests, if any, will be sent out daily.
--

When I go to the URL and try to resolve the waiting request I encounter the
following message:

--
Database Updated...

Administrative requests for mailing list: Listname

This page contains a summary of the current set of administrative requests
requiring your approval for the Listname mailing list. First, you will find the
list of pending subscription and unsubscription requests, if any, followed by
any postings being held for your approval.

For each administrative request, please select the action to take, clicking on
the Submit All Data button when finished. More detailed instructions are also
available.

You can also view the details of all held postings.
--

As far as I can see there are NO requests waiting for the moderator and
nothing to resolve.

What's going on?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

[Mailman-Users] Multiple Sub or Unsub using email

2004-07-15 Thread Mike Cullum
Greetings,

My last post asked about having a moderator or some sort of sub-admin who
could do subscription management. That doesn't seem to be possible (though
it would be desirable from my perspective!). My backup is to have them do
it the way they have done it in the past using email.

In checking this out however it doesn't seem to be possible to issue
multiple subscribe or unsubscribe requests in a single email. Is this
correct?

Thanks for the assistance.

[Mailman-Users] Multiple list commands via email?

2004-07-15 Thread Mike Cullum
Is it possible in Mailman to execute multiple list commands (i.e.
Subscriptions, etc) on separate lines of a single email?

Thanks.
