[Mailman-Users] List freezing?

2007-01-15 Thread Terry Poperszky
I have a mailman server (4.12) with a couple of hundred lists on it and
it has been working fine, now my largest list (826) has frozen, I can
list it, but it I can't add/subtract from it on the command line or the
GUI. Can someone point me in the correct direction to troubleshoot this
thing?

2007-01-15 Thread Terry Poperszky
Thanks, there were stale locks keeping me from accessing the
administrative interface (gui/cl). I shut mailman down and deleted the
locks and everything is happy now. Sorry for the vague post to start
this discussion.

I assume by 'add/subtract' you mean adding and removing list members.
What happens when you try to do this?

Is there anything interesting in mailman's 'error' log?

Also, it's probably not related, if you can't add members, but
double-check to make sure that all of mailman's qrunners are running.

I re-installed the MM package and it works now, it would appear that the
sles9 update is broken

The new address retains the name information of the address that was

[Mailman-Users] Accepting non-List members email

2004-12-21 Thread Terry Poperszky
I am looking for a replacement for the distribution lists that we
currently house in MS Exchange, the moderated lists work well for those
distribution lists that we have that have restricted senders, but the
vast majority of our distribution lists are used in dealing with the
outside world and accept email from non-members. Now, I can simply set
those up in the aliases file, but my goal would be to give my
administration team a single place for both types of lists.

So, looking the FAQ I do not see this issue addressed, can someone shed
some light on this question?

Yes, you can accept mail from non members. Just a click of a button does the
