Re: [MlMt] white numbers in menu bar counter
Here is what a piece of my menubar looks like, with some useful context. ![](cid:26CDF4A3-D205-4A2C-B509-BEFE070413A8@comcast.net "Screen Shot 2023-03-14 at 23.49.33.png") On 14 Mar 2023, at 16:45, Henry Seiden wrote: Glenn, Mine are black on grey and I’m happy with that. What has changed is the oval background for the counters. It used to be a solid color, but now it is a hollow oval outline with color on the border and a transparent interior. Personally, I like this because the vivid, solid background blobs were out of character with the rest of the menubar icons, but I use dark mode for everything so I find it is still legible. I found that the background colors can be tweaked by messing with the “hidden” preferences, but I have found any way to adjust the foreground color. Glenn P. The only way to have precise delayed transmission is for an email client to hold off on submitting it. Naturally, there may be other delays in the pipeline once a message is submitted, but those are simply out of our control. In the same vein, you wouldn’t give a piece of snail mail to the Post Office and then ask them to sit on it for a day before processing it. They would probably just hand your envelope back to you and suggest that you come back tomorrow. Philosophically speaking, dividing the email world into “clients and servers” is a subtle logical trap. In practice, it’s all just a just bunch of agents making connections and exchanging information using established protocols. Glenn P. Re: [MlMt] Using iCloud Keychain for account info
All of my email account passwords are in the local login keychain file (`~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain-db`). On my systems, even if iCloud Keychain is enabled, Mailmate still stores and reads the passwords in the local keychain file. This is what led to my OP - to check if this behavior is the same for other Mailmate users or if others see Mailmate using the iCloud Keychain… - - - On 13 Mar 2023, at 13:20, Henry Seiden wrote: That’s a no for me. I recently migrated and was not able to recall my passwords from anywhere on the new systems although most other settings came in, the account passwords didn’t. I didn’t try to confirm which, if any, keychain had them inside just that MailMate wouldn’t read passwords. If you confirm which keychain it is that MM uses, please let us know. Hopefully it’s the same one that normally carries the Internet Account Passwords. Respectfully, Henry Seiden - - Techworks Pro Co. [MlMt] Read state not syncing
Hi, I’m having an issue with a work Gmail account, where the read state of emails is not syncing between Gmail & MailMate (I can confirm this with the gmail web interface and my iOS client, it works fine there). I have another, non-Gmail account which works fine. I’m running 1.14 (5937). I searched the archives and I found this report by Brett Terpstra: https://www.mail-archive.com/mailmate@lists.freron.com/msg02485.html But as it’s almost 10 years old, I’m reluctant to try the suggested solution, which was to use: defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmEnableKeywordsCheckInIDLEForGmail -bool YES Any ideas? [MlMt] SMTP Errors - M365 Account
Hello, I’m managing multiple accounts in Mailmate. I have my own M365 account that I’m the admin of and have always had problems with the account. I have a separate account with a client that I consult with and use Davmail in M365. I’ve had nothing but problems with the Account that I administer and the problems have only been with Mailmate. I’ve ruled everything out by using Thunderbird without problem and have even changed to using Davmail on the account that I administer. I’m still having issues. When I go into edit the IMAP account I find that the password is blank and username is greyed out in the SMTP server configuration. Am I missing something here? All signs are pointing to a Mailmate and this point I’ve spent way too much time on this. Thanks in advance for your help.
