My suggestion also leaves the next message unread since I have preview off. 
Having nothing selected after delete is a hassle.

Just setting it up manually the first time and then either copying and pasting 
that list or replying to the message won't do?

Or set up an AppleScript that has everyone's email in it.

(FWIW, this is exactly the kind of thing I would not want to receive multiple 
copies of, but my kids are old now. :-) )

As long as the window doesn't actually hit up against the edge of the screen. 
Always leave a gap.

PS My message Windows now open up in the far right bottom. Not sure why.
