2017-07-21 Thread Youri SREBOT
Hi all,

I was wondering if it was possible to sort out the TAGS list in some way?

Also is it possible to import a CSV/TXT… file?

TIA,

Click on the display name column in the latest test release: Hold down
⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences
pane.

I'm afraid not. You might be able to make your own converter. You can
see the existing tags in this file:

~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Tags.plist

[MlMt] Markdown language

2017-08-28 Thread Youri SREBOT

Hi all,

I am composing emails using Markdown. I was wondering if all popular
emails clients can read and correctly display my messages?

Thanks for your lights.

Yes, MailMate generates HTML based on the Markdown syntax and it tries
to keep the HTML as simple as possible. Markdown is just a plain text
way of generating HTML emails. The end result is, in theory, identical
to what other email clients generate.

(There are corner cases which I try to fix from case to case, but I
don't think this is much different than the issues experienced with
HTML generated by other email clients.)

[MlMt] Templates

2017-09-13 Thread Youri SREBOT

Hi all,

Is there a way to make some templates in Mailmate (ie. “Answer to
customer”, “Answer to web request” etc…)?

I often use such pre-formated emails in my work.

TIA,

Best regards,

[MlMt] Share with Mailmate message not at the front most

2017-09-20 Thread Youri SREBOT

Hi all,

When sharing a pdf from Preview, Word, Excel… we have a message window
asking to confirm the action and after the mail is generated with the
attachment in Mailmate.

	- 1. I personally find the confirmation window a waste of time more
than anything as the “Sahre with Mailmate” action is very unlikely
to be hit unintentionally. What do you think guys? Need? No need?

	- 2. More annoying is the fact that the message generated in Mailmate
doesn’t appear in a window at the front most. In a clustered
environment it is a waste of time to have to find the message generated.
Any possibility to modify this behavior?

Thanking you in anticipation and wishing you a good day,

It's not needed, but there is currently no way to avoid it. As far as
I've been able to figure out, only Apple has access to an API which
can skip this window.

I'll change this.

Re: [MlMt] Cool shortcut

Thank you for sharing this impressive tip. I love it.

Any chance to find some more like this?

Hi

Maybe you all already know this - maybe it's standard for Markdown?
(MM is the only place I use Markdown) - but I just discovered it so
I'm sharing. If you use command-K whatever is in clipboard becomes a
markdown link with the word to the left of the cursor.

I wonder what other shortcuts I could be using.

Peace,

Annamarie

[MlMt] Markdown question

2017-10-20 Thread Youri SREBOT

Hi all,

Is it me or is it impossible to have Bold or Italic text within a
Markdowned section of text?

For instance having the following text : Lore Ipsum __Dolore__ sit
_Amen_

when this text is in a list or indentation (see bellow)

Lore Ipsum __Dolore__ sit _Amen_

or

- Lore Ipsum __Dolore__ sit _Amen_

TIA

Both work for me, except when you indent with 4 spaces, which creates
a code block, i.e., the text is wrapped in tags.

Likewise list items can be indented up to 3 spaces, not 4.

Yes, see the “Command ▸ MailMate ▸ Change Subject” menu item.
The window opened also tells you about various caveats (essentially it
tells you how it works).

It's actually a more general feature which would allow creating bundle
commands changing any header of emails received. I wouldn't actually
recommend doing so. Emails are supposed to be read-only.
