Sorry for not replying earlier on. I'm glad you found a solution. I
assume that when you write “creating a new email account” then you
mean re-creating it in MailMate (and not creating a new iCloud account
at Apple). (No need to reply if this assumption is correct.)

Thanks for the link to the mailassistant. I had not seen that before.

it's okay - I figured you were busy. Assumption correct about recreating
the account in MM. I did get a helpful direct response from someone
about how to delete the bad account. Sources not immediately obvious
to me as the location. You might want to have something in the Help to
say so?

Mailassistant link came from the Apple guy. I hadn't seen it either.

I'm loving the Smart Folder Mailing Lists. You are changing how I use
email. : ) I can see that there's lots more to use.

Thank you.

But yes, I've tried all that. I'm calling Apple today to see if they'll
shed light on the issue.

I initially had problems getting iCloud working with Mailmate as well,
but when I followed these instructions/parameters supplied by Apple,
everything took of and has worked fine since.

I hope it helps.

Try using just username, not usern...@icloud.com. I don't remember
where i saw this tip, and it solved the problem for me.

It was here, at the beginning of December. The thread was MailMate does
not import iCloud Account. Removing the domain solved the problem for
me, too.

I'm having the same issues with iCloud and tried entering only the username.
That didn't work either.

Does anyone having problems connecting to iCloud have two-factor authorization
turned on?

My next experiment is turning off two-factor authorization, then try setting up
iCloud in MailMate.

No love. I've talked to Apple. Found out about this link:
https://www.apple.com/support/macosx/mailassistant/
Followed their procedures. Something is better but I'm still not
connected. Thought to delete the account and start over but can't
figure out how to do that.

How?

Maybe this will help. Edit your iCloud account setting from MailMate -
File menu and then select Edit IMAP account. Make you have the
following set to these values:

IMAP Server: p08-imap.mail.me.com
Port: 993

SMTP Server: smtp.me.com
Port: 587

In both cases, make sure you check Require SSL

Hope this helps.
