Re: [mailop] Email issues to outlook.com and hotmail.com this afternoon/evening

Thanks. Most of them are "AS843". I wish I knew what that meant. Poking
through those pending outbound messages in our queues, nothing seems sneaky or
suspicious about them. Hopefully they will eventually deliver.

Hi Frank,

To answer the question: "not me", but any STMP reply that includes (AS[0-9]+)
is related to spam detection/reputation issues.
Those "Server busy" without such codes can perfectly is that servers are, in
fact, busy (so you should try again, maybe fallback a bit).

When talking with the support a few weeks back, we provided the proportion of
each ASXXX numbers in our logs for a given IP/pool/client, as although I don't
know what each code is about, that could help them spot something specific on
their side (for the cases where I _know_ that there's no reason to consider the
emails as spam).

Are you seeing many more "Server busy" without than with ASXXX ?

Hope that helps,

A quick question... Does anyone have numbers on:

Hi David,

These are the numbers from the last seven days. Outbound traffic from

Hello Tonya,

>Currently connections are set at 1 yet we are still seeing too many
>simultaneous sessions. I am hoping to reach someone who can assist further.

not sure this applies to your case, but if you're applying outbound connections
limits to a destination domain, and the destination MX manages multiple
domains, you might in fact be opening more than 1 simultaneous concurrent
connection to that MX.
You count 1 open connection from your MTA to virginmedia.com and 1 to
ntlworld.com, but they are seeing 2 connections from your IP to their MXs.

Or, your MTA might in fact be exceeding configured limits during specific queue
conditions.

Both of the above are from direct experience.

[mailop] Anyone Here from VirginMedia?

2018-02-22 Thread Tonya Gordon via mailop
Is anyone from Virginmedia here or anyone have a contact I can reach out
to? I have reached out to postmas...@virginmedia.com and followed the
instructions sending samples but have not received a response or seen an
improvement.

Sample Error Message: 421 mx7.tb.ukmail.iss.as9143.net bizsmtp Too many
simultaneous sessions

Currently connections are set at 1 yet we are still seeing too many
simultaneous sessions. I am hoping to reach someone who can assist further.

Any help would be greatly appreciated 😇

Tonya

[mailop] TLS support

2018-02-22 Thread David Hofstee
Hi,

A quick question... Does anyone have numbers on:
- the (volume) percentage of emails sent via TLS (capable mail servers)
- the (volume) percentage of emails sent via TLS where the receiving mta
has a valid certificate
- the (volume) percentage of emails sent via TLS where the receiving mta
uses a valid certificate and supports DANE

Any answer is appreciated. Yours,

David
