[mailop] E-Discovery contacts at Gmail and Hotmail

2020-04-17 Thread Chris Boyd via mailop
Anyone know how to get hold of Gmail and Hotmail e-discovery contacts? Google
searches for Gmail get me links to their Vault service, and
https://ediscovery.google.com/discovery/u/0/ throws a 400 error. Hotmail
searches get me a bunch of irrelevant products.

Thanks in advance.

[mailop] Report phishing addresses to Google?

2019-07-22 Thread Chris Boyd via mailop
Anyone know of a form to use to report addresses being used as dropboxes for
phishing to Google? I found the link to report them within Gmail, but not
helpful to a user outside their system. Example:

> Information required should be sent to my Private email address as stated
> below

> E-mail:theobri...@gmail.com

Dear old Theo really doesn’t need to have access to the responses, IMHO.

[mailop] FireEye NewExist?

2019-03-29 Thread Chris Boyd
Had an odd transient bounce from an email server that’s used for a small
consulting company. The email server is low volume, and hosted on AWS. Bounce
message is:

host primary.us.email.fireeyecloud.com[165.254.91.98]
said: 550 5.5.4 ETP212 Your DNS .com is listed by Newexist. -

The other odd thing is that primary.us.email.fireeyecloud.com is not listed as
an MX for the receiving domain.

Google doesn’t return anything that seems to do with email when searching for
fireeye newexist.

Anyone know what happened here?

Apologies, Rob. I jumped the gun on the mailop thing.

I had hit send before digging into the delist process.

Thanks for the info. I’ll figure out how that got relayed and fix it ASAP.

Good idea. How do you download it? Looks like the web developers had their way
with it, so you have to download a small pile of javascript just to get the URL
on S3 :-(

This particular outfit is block on sight for me. Back when I ran a managed
services company, blocking all of their IP address space took out s significant
amount of spam that had to be processed. Zero false positive reports over
several years.

[mailop] Spamcop test email breaks on greylisting

2017-05-08 Thread Chris Boyd
Trying to add a new mailhost to SpamCop for my domain name whois contact
address. If there’s anyone around from SpamCop, you might want to fix this.
Also grouched about having to send to an A record.

Sorry, all tests failed.
We cannot deliver mail to the address you provided:
long_email_addr...@whois.gkg.net. Double check the address provided or try
again later. Your mailhost appears to be offline.

Detailed errors:
Connecting to whois.gkg.net:
smtpSend:smtpEnvelope (serv...@admin.spamcop.net,
long_email_addr...@whois.gkg.net): smtpTo rcpt
to:long_email_addr...@whois.gkg.net (450 4.7.1 : Recipient address rejected:
Greylisted for 5 minutes )

Sometimes, mailservers are temporarilly unavailable. If you believe you have
entered your email address and other details correctly, you might just wait a
few minutes (or 24 hours) and try again.

That’s a Limestone Networks IP range, so Limestone will need to contact
Spamhaus. Limestone used to smack spammers, but over the last couple of years
they seem to have become quite spam friendly.
