RE: [mapguide-users] [fussion] Will Fusion meet OpenLayers providerstyle? ( multi-provider client)
Now this is what I have been thinking! If it were so then it seems to me that fdo providers would not be required for esri pgdb and many other data types. ( multi-provider client) Hi, I´m testing Fusion technology and found that DM guys did it again! Congratulations, it´s an amazing product. My question is: will Fusion be like OpenLayers, I mean: a multi provider data access tool? Currently Fusion supports MapServer, WMS and MapGuide resources. But, I´d like to know if is possible to include more protocols to its resources reading capabilites ( eg.: GeoRSS, KML, ArcXML, ArcGIS Server, etc.)? best regards. RE: [mapguide-users] Tiling Success (I think)
Hi George, The Tiling Engine works based on how you have set up your Map Definition in MapGuide Studio. You specify the number zoom threshold scales over a specified range in Studio for a Base Layer. The tiling engine will loop through each of these, and based on the map width and height in meters or feet, will generate a grid of tiles. The tiles are automatically added to your site repository tile cache. It is the MapGuide Server that does the processing, the Tiling Engine just does the math and requests. The metrics of the performance gain will vary by server configuration and client monitor size, but I have seen 5-10x faster depending. [mapguide-users] View entire layer
hello, in Mapinfo, there's a 'View entire layer' function which will zoom and center on a selected layer. i have a function that plots multiple points on a layer and placed on a map, and i want the viewer to zoom and center to the area which contains all the points created after each query. a hard way to do this i suppose is by taking the maximum and minimum latitude and longitude, calculate the zoom level, and use ZoomToView(). but is there any API that can do this operation? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/View-entire-layer-tf4439965s16610.html#a12667952 Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ mapguide-users mailing list mapguide-users@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users

RE: [mapguide-users] Web studio logging issue
I had success solving this problem by changing my url structure to load Webstudio. When I first started using MGOS I would navigate in Windows Explorer to... C:\Program Files\MapGuideOpenSource\WebServerExtensions\www\webstudio\ and click on either index.html or launch.html. However I would always get the long nasty looking PHP error you see when I tried to log in. I solved this by using the URL to get to this. http://localhost:8008/mapguide/webstudio/ and I could log on successfully. I hope that helps. - Trent > Date: Thu, 13 Sep 2007 08:05:16 -0700 > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To: mapguide-users@lists.osgeo.org > Subject: Re: [mapguide-users] Web studio logging issue > > > I am also having the same error... see below... > > http://www.nabble.com/file/p12656267/WebStudioLoginError.JPG > WebStudioLoginError.JPG > > > I am running MapGuide Server v1.2.0.1801. But if the problem is deep in the ECW SDK and not being reported we may not find out anything useful. I hate problems that only manifest with many files ... very hard to debug! Kym, I wonder if this occurs if you *only* use TIFFs with no ECWs? I have observed in some situations the ECW library does a poor job cleaning up it's threads and this can make applications hang at exit. I wonder if this might be the issue. If we can isolate this issue to ECWs then it might turn out to be an artifact of how the ECW SDK is being built from source for use by MapGuide. If so, we could look into building against an ECW SDK actually built by ERMapper which presumably have such issues resolved properly. If you can isolate the issue, I'd encourage you to create a Trac ticket in the *FDO* Trac (http://trac.osgeo.org/fdo) assigned to me (userid: warmerdam).
