It's a shame as I was really impressed with the end results as illustrated

MapGuide+Fusion looks really great, but I'm also struggling with the
difficulties to create a custom map :(
All looks great with Sheboygan, but without Mapguide Studio It's hard
to generate comparable results :(

2007-12-18 Thread btenbroeck

I'm getting basically the same error when trying to connect to
http://columbo.nrlssc.navy.mil/ogcwms/servlet/WMSServlet/USGS_Server.wms?

Element 'WMS_Schema:1 0' references class (NWIS_MS) which does not belong to
a feature class schema.

This is on MGE2008 and MGOS 2.0 Beta 2.0. The URL above is what I have
entered as my datasource. Is there some other URL parameter needed?

[mapguide-users] Ajax viewer zoom tool

2007-12-18 Thread BruceWeston

Hi there folks, I've got the CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE for you all.

I've created a map and I want to set the zoom tool scales like you would if
you were using base layers, but we're not using base layers at all, so I'd
like to do this programatically. I've recently worked out how to use
anonymous javascript methods to override the functions in the ajaxviewer to
pre or post fix functionality.like creating limits so that you can't
zoom in too far..so I could use this, but the mouse event stuff is
roasting my brain like the Christmas turkey and Brussels Sprouts are popping
out of my ears.

With only four working days left till Christmas, can anyone complete the
CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE?

Thanks,

Hi Alan,
If you can give it a whirl you can try the trial version of Autodesk
MapGuide Studio 2007. It will work seamlessly and better than WebStudio, but
the evaluation period is only for 60 days.

I agree that the details and the learning curve for MG is a little steep,
and I would like that an initiative be taken to host a Tutorials section
like the Samples section was hosted a little while ago. With all due respect
to the writers of the Developer Guide, it still is a bit mind-boggling to

[mapguide-users] MapGuide 1.2 login error

Can anybody tell me just why all of a sudden the MG 1.2 Server stops

You could write a small start-up Application that checks the service
periodically, and if it has stopped, restart the service.

It's a work-around, but it saves you actually having to be physically at the
computer when it comes out of stand-by

[mapguide-users] Trusted Sites

2007-12-18 Thread Chris Tallman
I'm hoping i'm just missing something but when I add my mapguide site to
the trusted site list I no longer get tool tips and I can't select point
features. If I remove the site from the trusted list I can select the
feature again.

So I know don't make the site trusted, however we have a site that is
running on a https secure address, so its nice to have it in the trusted
list. Plus if its not in the list I get asked the following.

This website wants to run the following add-on: 'MSXML 5.0' from
'Microsoft Corporatioin'. If you trust the website and the add-on and
want to allow it to run, click here...

So I do it reloads and I get the same thing. However if I make the site
trusted I don't get this. Also If I don't have this MSXML enabled I
don't get my pictures next to the legend labels. I see question marks
until I zoom in or make the map refresh. If I have the site trusted I
don't have any of these problems I just can't select features.

So do I have something set wrong someplace does anyone else see this
same problem, can anyone else reproduce this? I can reproduce on my

[mapguide-users] Fusion... getting started.

2007-12-18 Thread Jason Birch
Hi all,

I just noticed that someone uploaded some documentation on Fusion :)

http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/releases/2.0.0-beta2/doc/

These still look a bit beta (ie. incomplete), but there is some good
information in there. I would suggest ignoring the Installing and
Configuring doc. Start with Introduction (briefly), go on to
Generic Web Mapping Application Components, then Widget Concepts,
and finally Create A Basic Web Mapping Application.

There is also a new template called learn in Beta2. This template not
exactly basic (it looks a _lot_ like the familiar AJAX viewer) but is
well commented. This appears to be featured in the Create a Basic...
documentation; perhaps the link will be tighter once the documentation
is complete. It is a good starting point for beginning to understand
some of the more involved Jx layout capabilities, advanced widgets, etc.

Here's a hint by way of Chris Claydon... If you are trying to figure
out the parameters to a specific widget, they should be documented in
XML files in this folder:

C:\Program
Files\MapGuideOpenSource2.0\WebServerExtensions\www\fusion\widgets\widge
tinfo

If you are starting down the path of figuring out how Fusion works, you
might also find a snippet that I recently put together useful:

http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/CodeSamples/Fusion/SuperSimple

( or http://tinyurl.com/26mmh8 )

Let me know if you try this out and it doesn't work :) I did just test
it under Beta 2, but you know how those gremlins work...

You don't need anything more complicated than a text editor for any of
this. Of course... the hope is that eventually there will be tools that
make this a lot easier.

displayed correctly, however the feature details are not displayed in the
Selection Panel, the selection panel is completely blank.
Do you have any suggestions... what have I missed?

Hi,

I've just updated the wiki page with updated instructions for installing

This page also has notes on how to use the FdoGDAL provider with Studio.

Let me know if this works for you; it's working fine for me. Well,
except for thin white lines between image tiles. I have to figure out
what is causing this bug and submit a ticket appropriately...

Of interest: Apparently both of these plugins include support for
