RE: [mapguide-users] Fusion Task Pane without session variable

2011-09-16 Thread Berdel, Brian

Change your setContent function in taskpane.js file under widgets to this:

setContent: function (url) {
if (this.nCurrentTask < this.aExecutedTasks.length) {
this.aExecutedTasks.splice(this.nCurrentTask,
this.aExecutedTasks.length - this.nCurrentTask);
}
var map = this.getMap();

var params = []; params.push('LOCALE=' + Fusion.locale);
params.push('SESSION=' + map.getSessionID()); params.push('MAPNAME=' +
map.getMapName()); if (url.indexOf('?') < 0) {

url += '?';

} else if (url.slice(-1) != '&') {

url += '&';

} url += params.join('&');

this.aExecutedTasks.push(url);
++this.nCurrentTask;
this.iframe.src = url;
this.iframe.taskPaneId = this.widgetTag.name;
this.updateButtons();
},

I am opening the task pane in the Fusion viewer when my page loads. The
initial URL for my task pane is an .aspx page. The page seems to load fine in
my task pane. The script shown below doesn't work when the task pane is opened
but works if I click the Home button in the task pane:

String sessionId = Request.QueryString["SESSION"]; String mapId =
Request.QueryString["MAPNAME"];

Is there a way to get these parameters when the task pane opens? Or maybe a
java script method to use on the task pane after it opens that would be the
equivalent of clicking the Home button?

[mapguide-users] Fusion SaveMap / Print

2011-08-31 Thread Berdel, Brian
Is there any way to print or save basemaps in Fusion/ mapguide 2.2? Unless I am
missing something, It only seems to grab the 1st map when printing or saving.
I even tried setting the resource ID to the Basemap as a test and it still
grabbed the 1st map. Our roads and aerials are all base maps which work great
now. But if clients cannot print or save the entire map group we cannot
implement.

RE: [mapguide-users] 2.2 RC1 64 bit - unable to build

2010-10-28 Thread Berdel, Brian
Thanks for the response, I was able to get it to work by creating a new project
and adding the references to the osgeo.mapguide dlls then pasting the rest (VS
would not allow explicitly adding them as references)

However I am using fusion in my apps and it appears pretty broken at this point
both the install version and SVN

Ok. This is what I am doing for development of .NET apps which you might
want to check. This might not be the best solution, and probably is not in
my opinion.

I have setup the dotnetviewersample (samples which you can download from MG
website and follow the setup instructions for IIS) as an application under
IIS. Path like - Default Web Site > mapguide > dotnetviewersample. Then I
open this application from within VS like File > Open Website > Local IIS.
You should now be able to debug your application. Please note, you need to
run VS in admin mode on Windows 7 to open websites like this from IIS. Also,
this way you will use IIS as your dev server rather than ASP.NET dev server
that comes with VS.

Hope this helps.

[mapguide-users] Fusion ODBC Reproject

2010-06-10 Thread Berdel, Brian
Hello All,

Having an issue with 2.2 and Fusion SVN and data reprojection.

I have an app setup that uses google and has multiple SDF layers, they all
re-project on the fly with no issues to the Google projection, most of them are
in Lat Longs.

However using an ODBC connection to a SQL Data base layer with Lat Longs the
data does not seem to re-project. I have set coordinate override...and the
data does show up if I do not put it in this map and does not need to be
re-projected.No errors in the logs either, it just appears to not
re-project when using ODBC. Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks,

Brian

Brian, I'd suggest switching to the 2.1 branch; there are some changes
in trunk that won't be going into 2.1 (afaikt).

Also, there is a candidate build of RC1 available at
http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/testing if you want to try that.

Hello All,
I was just wondering if there is any timeline for the new fusion release. The
beta had a lot of issues and I periodically test the Trunk, but that actually
seems worse now...The Legend is broken and scales are off and it is only
allowing me to zoom into a certain extent. Thanks, just wondering because I
would love to use it, as the improvements are great once everything is working.

[mapguide-users] RE: parent.parent.parent.mapFrame - AJAX vs FUSION

2009-09-16 Thread Berdel, Brian
If you want to add the reference to your fusion index page, add the following
to your aspx (task pane) page

function GetParent()
{
if (parent.Fusion) {
return parent;
} else if (parent.parent.Fusion) {
return parent.parent;
}
   }

Then you can call functions in the same way as before but substitute

GetParent().DigitizePoint(OnPointDigitized);

I think you should be able to reference the MapGuideViewerAPI.js script from
your aspx page, and then just call DigitizePoint directly without any
window.top or parent references.

It should also be possible to add a reference to MapGuideViewerAPI.js to the
index.html file in the Fusion template you're using, and reference it using
window.top...

It's been a while since I've played around with this stuff, so someone else may
be able to provide specifics...

Subject: [mapguide-users] parent.parent.parent.mapFrame - AJAX vs FUSION

Hi List,

I'm making steady progress with my project and learning many things about
MapGuide along the way thanks largely to the help from those on this list -
many thanks to those who have helped so far

>From what I can tell parent.parent.parent.mapFrame is how the map frame is

>about how this is referenced in Fusion and it seems the MapGuideViewerAPI.js

In both AJAX and FUSION I'm working from the taskpane and using the markup
scripts that are part of the AJAX demo's and tutorials.

I assume I need to substitute either 'Fusion' or 'window.top.Fusion' somehow
for 'parent.parent.parent.mapFrame.DigitizePoint(OnPointDigitized);'. in my
script however I have yet to do this in such a way that it works. I keep
getting 'Object doesn't support this property or method'.

So for example in my editmarkup.aspx code for example, I have the following
function which should be activated when I click the digitize point button

function AddPoint()
{
  SetDigitizeInfo(EDIT_POINT_HELP);
  parent.parent.parent.mapFrame.DigitizePoint(OnPointDigitized);
}

In Fusion this code gives an error 'parent.parent,parent.mapFrame' is null or
not an object

I see that in MapGuideViewerAPI.js

function DigitizePoint(handler) {
if (handler) {
  var Fusion = window.top.Fusion;
  var mapWidget = Fusion.getWidgetById(mapWidgetId);
  var digitizer = new Fusion.Tool.Canvas.Point(mapWidget);
  digitizer.mouseUp = PointHandlers.prototype.mouseUp;
  Object.inheritFrom(digitizer, Fusion.Tool.Canvas.prototype, []);
  digitizer.initializeCanvas();
  var activeWidget = mapWidget.buttonSet.activeButton;
  mapWidget.buttonSet.setActiveButton(null);
  digitizer.handler = function() {
  handler.apply(null, arguments);
  activeWidget.setActive(true);
  }
  digitizer.activateCanvas();

  //add a listener to update the position of the features
  var mapWidget = Fusion.getWidgetById(mapWidgetId);
  mapWidget.registerForEvent(Fusion.Event.MAP_EXTENTS_CHANGED,
function(){
  digitizer.updatePx();
  digitizer.clearContext();
  digitizer.draw(digitizer.context);
}
  );
}
}

Thanks
Fraser

RE: [mapguide-users] Fusion - Session ID invalid because the session separator character was not found

2009-09-11 Thread Berdel, Brian
I updated the Taskpane.js file in the widgets folder to fix this issue. It
does not pass the parameters on load without this code I believe I entered a
ticket for this with new code a while back.

Change your setContent function to this:

setContent: function(url) {
if (this.nCurrentTask < this.aExecutedTasks.length) {
this.aExecutedTasks.splice(this.nCurrentTask,
this.aExecutedTasks.length - this.nCurrentTask);
}
var map = this.getMap();

var params = []; params.push('LOCALE=' + Fusion.locale);
params.push('SESSION=' + map.getSessionID()); params.push('MAPNAME=' +
map.getMapName()); if (url.indexOf('?') < 0) {

url += '?';

} else if (url.slice(-1) != '&') {

url += '&';

} url += params.join('&');

this.aExecutedTasks.push(url);
++this.nCurrentTask;
this.iframe.src = url;
this.iframe.taskPaneId = this.widgetTag.name;
this.updateButtons();
},

Hi List.
I'm modifying the Ajax utility demo found here
http://enterprise.mapguide.com/utilitymap/ . I made all my modifications and
had my shiny new application up and running in a basic AJAX layout.
I'm now trying to move it across to a Fusion layout. All code works fine in
the basic web layout, but in the Fusion layout I get the error below. So I
guess the question is how does Fusion differ from Ajax when it comes to passing
through a session ID? Any code out there that shows how this is done in fusion?
Further to this, if I get across this initial hurdle, are there a pile more
waiting for me by taking something created for AJAX and cramming it into Fusion?
Thanks for your help.

I was trying to load data from SQL Server 2008 using the Osgeo FDO Provider
for SQL Server Spatial data connection in MapGuide Enterprise 2010. It
seems slower than shapefiles when previewing in MapGuide Studio. I find SDF
format to be the fastest of the 3 formats.

I originally had a shapefile about 100 MB in size. The loading time in
MapGuide:
SQL Server - 41 seconds
Shapefile - 30 seconds
SDF - 15 seconds

Any ideas how to make loading from SQL Server data faster with MapGuide?
Does it have something to do with FDO provider?

That's good, at least I know it's possible to load it with fusion layout.
The fusion layout does load if the SQL Server data is removed from the map.

MapGuide Enterprise 2010 and SQL Server 2008 are on different servers. Both
have installed:

Apache2
Windows Server 2003 R2

argh - that shouldn't have changed, must be some difference in IE and
Firefox that we never noticed. What we really need is a method of
generating a single image that contains all the icons - or at least
all that we know about when the map loads - we are doing this with
mapserver and the legend images are lightning fast now. I think this
has been discussed previously and there may even be an issue filed for
it. I'll try to remember to check on that (unless someone else does
first, hint, hint)

RE: [mapguide-users] 2.1 Beta (Fusion) Problems

2009-07-07 Thread Berdel, Brian
Seems as though IE may load all of the images for the legend on page load, but
firefox does not load them until a folder is expanded. Again, this was not a
problem in Fusion 1.1.

Thanks Dave, but I have tried that and it has the same result with multiple
maps. Maps with < 20 or so load fine in IE. The maps I am using do have a
pretty deep structure as well so there are a lot of images to load. But it is
only in IE that the problem exists.

Oracle may have an SDO_NN (nearest neighbor) type call. I'm not sure about SQL
Server. MG doesn't have a closest spatial operator, that would be a good
wishlist item.

Thanks for the reply, I will try that approach and see how it turns out. It
does seem like it may be pretty taxing and slow with a lot of points to keep
looping different circles around them (I forgot to explain there would be a
lot). Is there anything in the API for "closest" ? Just to get the ID of the
segment? I actually don't need to select them. I was also going to check
into SQL spatial to see if there is any way to do it as well. Thanks

You could do a spatial query using a circle in a loop continually increasing
the radius each time until you get a result. Setting the initial radius and the
increments of the circle probably depends on the coordinate system of the data
although this is similar to the logic in the selection for a click select in
the AJAX Viewer so you could start with that.

[mapguide-users] Mapguide 2.1 Fusion 2 - Measure tool

2009-05-13 Thread Berdel, Brian
The measure tool in fusion is very erratic since the update to 2. It works
pretty well in the beta download but not in the version in the 2.1 installer or
the svn version. I have tried replacing the widget from the beta and tried
different versions of open layers but have not had success.

Basically, in the 2.1 installer version it works pretty well, but it takes 4
clicks to end the segment. Also the escape key no longer works to clear it.
I was testing in IE7

Hi Brian,

The .json mime type was something I noticed and then forgot to fix. I've added
a ticket for this (#965).

Can you please do the following on your XP platform and send me the output (or,
better yet, attach it to ticket #958)

- Use 7zip to open the installer executable, and extract
MapGuideOpenSource-2.1.0-Unofficial.msi from the $TEMP directory
- Run this installer from the command line as:
   msiexec /i MapGuideOpenSource-2.1.0-Unofficial.msi /l*v instlog.txt

This will let us see if something isn't installing properly anyway. Could you
also go into IIS and check all of the extension mappings in the admin directory
to make sure that something isn't pointing to the wrong location?

The IIS7 installer has a number of defects (in our use case, where we want to
allow the user to specify install location), and is being entirely rewritten.

RE: [mapguide-users] Mapguide 2.1 installer

2009-04-15 Thread Berdel, Brian
My Findings for 2.1 installation so far

I did not have any problems installing or with the Visual C++ Runtime
Libraries, but I have been unable to get it to function properly on XP SP3 or
XP SP2 with IIS / .NET.

Cannot connect via studio or maestro and cannot connect to site admin either.
Keep getting specified module cannot be found, so it may be a PHP issue.

But I have checked environment variables, php extensions, etc. and they all
seem to be correct.

I have tried this on multiple PC's that have all had mapguide installed before
(but I removed before the install). I have not been able to try on a "clean"
XP machine yet.

Everything does seem to work on server 2003 / IIS6 that did not previously have
any php or mapguide on it.

On 2008 / IIS7 the installer did not add .json as a mime type and I had to make
mapadmin an application to get admin page to work. I was able to load package
after that, but map does not show up in sample for fusion. Here is the error
in Firebug

Fusion Error: FATAL: xml2json: invalid XML document: Not Found :

Jackie,

Windows XP Pro SP2 x86
I have installed it correctly now
Deleted all my c:\docs sets\user\temp\*.*
Downloaded and installed vcredist_x86.exe (2008) and vcredist_x86.exe (2008 sp1)
run install again and it worked.
What may have happened prior to install.

1. in the current users temp directory a copy of vcredist_x86.exe already
exists (2005 version)
2. MapGuide runs through installation, during install finds that it requires a
missing "Visual C++ Runtime Libraries (x86)" then proceeds to copy file to
users temp dir where a previous copy already exists?
3. Does not overwrite with the new copy, install then tries to verify
vcredist_x86.exe and finds it is the wrong version.
4. Installation is stopped.

Might just have been my bad luck and un-clean system :0

I could try and remove the "c(x86)" 2008 and try again just using the installer
and grab the installation log.

What is your environment? (Operating System / 32 or 64-bit). Can we get more
detailed (error) information?

The installer has a Visual C++ 2008 Runtime installer built-in, and it will
install that if it could not find said library on your machine.

- Jackie

Howdy,
Just downloaded and installed the mapguide 2.1 beta
installer(MapGuideOpenSource-2.1.0-Unofficial-c.exe), run into an error
regarding "Visual C++ Runtime Libraries (x86)" the install proceeds as if to
install "Visual C++ Runtime Libraries (x86)" but fails?

Have I got the right version of the installer?
Should I have already installed "Visual C++ Runtime Libraries (x86)"?

I will try and install "Visual C++ Runtime Libraries (x86)" by itself and try
the installer again.

RE: [mapguide-users] re ; mapguide integration with google maps

2009-04-09 Thread Berdel, Brian
The KML does not work with the current version of google maps, this is a known
issue for google.

If you are using fusion, you can theoretically overlay a mapguide map onto
google maps in Fusion 2.0.
I started testing this last week, but have been too bogged down to finish
testing. I was able to overlay my map onto google maps, but there was a
coordinate system issue and a problem setting the extents.

Jason wrote a script to fix an extent issue and also helped out with the
coordinated system since Mapguide does not have it as an option.

So the short answer is that there is not an easy way to do it. As soon as I
get some time to finish testing with google maps and fusion2 I will document
the procedure and post. (But I am leaving for a long weekend this afternoon,
so it will not be until next week...)

Or is it possible to convert marker layer into tiles and overlay on google

Is there any in map open layers implementation to do the above mentioned

Can include google maps into mapguide frame on load and then add my map on it ?

Thanks Kenneth, I was able to get working on another machine, so it is working
on one of my layers now, but not my raster layer (sid files), still the same
result. They sid's do display properly otherwise. Is there a proper way to
add them in maestro so the cooker will work properly on them? Currently just
creating a composite by selecting the appropriate folder.

The algorithm used in MgCooker is a little alternative, and I think its broken
for some maps.
I have an improved version ready, but I need some legal stuff cleared before I
can commit the fixes.

You can try building MgCooker from SVN, as there are some fixes in there
already, but
the area it renders is likely way too big.

It sounds very strange that the cache is cleared when you view the map though.

RE: [mapguide-users] re: mapguide integration with google maps

2009-04-03 Thread Berdel, Brian
It is only possible in Fusion2. I started testing this week and there were
some issues (primarily with the Coordinate system not being available and
issues setting the extents. I believe Jason has resolved both of these though
and I plan on testing later today. Once we have it tested and working
correctly, I will Post the steps and Jason's fixes.

Thanks,

Brian

I checked the source code - it seems like the code that parses colors for
symbol definitions only works when the full 8 bytes are specified in the color
string (so you have to prepend your 6 byte strings by FF for fully opaque).
Interestingly enough, the code that does the same for regular style definitions
handles both the case of 6 and 8 characters.

If you use 8 Character Codes for color, it seems to work for me now. The 6
digit codes do not show up, except for 00.

Paul,
I have been experimenting with both the MapGuide standard template and
my own.
Apparently I had a coordinate system issue in my map that I was testing
(changed it and forgot to change it back), which explains the negative X
value. Although my map is still reporting in meters despite being in
feet.
Still at a loss as to the other issues though.

Subject: [mapguide-users] when Mapguide 2.1 will be released?

I have read that Mapguide 2.1 would be released in late january along with
the Fusion 2.0.
Fusion 2.0 beta already has been released, So when Mapguide will be
released?

RE: [mapguide-users] Consuming WFS, error in MGE2009

2009-02-04 Thread Berdel, Brian
Did you try setting the coordinate system in the coordinate system
over-ride?
Not sure if this will work for you...as I have not loaded any WFS and I
am using open source, but when connecting a SQL Spatial Data Source, I
got a similar error and it was resolved after I set the coordinate
system in the coordinate system over-ride of the data source. Might be
worth a try...

Unfortunately I never found a solution to this problem. I did succeed to
consume WFS with served by some other servers but in that case some
other
problems were occurring (not possible to select features, unstable,
...).

Here is the server side code I use to generate the selection and
selectionXML to pass to the client, hope this helps.

MgUserInformation userInfo = new MgUserInformation(mgSessionId);

MgSiteConnection siteConnection = new MgSiteConnection();

siteConnection.Open(userInfo);

MgResourceService resService =

MgFeatureService featureService =

MgMap map = new MgMap();

map.Open(resService, mapname);

MgLayer layer = (MgLayer)map.GetLayers().GetItem(queryLayer);

MgResourceIdentifier resId = new
MgResourceIdentifier(layer.GetFeatureSourceId());

MgFeatureQueryOptions queryOption = new MgFeatureQueryOptions();

queryOption.SetFilter(queryString);

MgFeatureReader featureReader = featureService.SelectFeatures(resId,
queryLayer, queryOption);

MgSelection selection = new MgSelection(map);

selection.AddFeatures(layer, featureReader, 0);

string selectionXML = null;

selectionXML = selection.ToXml();

selection.Save(resService, mapname);

map.Save();

featureReader.Close();

return selectionXML;

Thanks for the reply, I did have a null value in one of my fields which
kind of fixed the problem. I'm still having an issue with selection and
Fusion. After fixing the problem with the null values in the feature
source, my feature shows up as being selected on the map (aka
highlighted) but it does not show up in the status bar as being selected
or in the selection pane. I am also unable to clear the selection.

Is their additional server side code that I need to run in order to tell
the map there is a selection, or is there something client-side maybe?

RE: [mapguide-users] Fusion and .NET Development

2008-12-23 Thread Berdel, Brian
Ok, you can do this as well. There may be fusion functions for getting
these client-side, but I am not sure what they are...One way to do it is
to reference the Mapguide.js file in your fusion template

Then you can access the Mapguide web api functions such as
getSessionID()

I created a javascript function to return the sessionID in the Fusion
template:

   function test() {
   theMap = Fusion.getWidgetById('Map');
   var myparams = theMap.getSessionID();
   alert(myparams);
   }
--

Then you can access this function from your task page with the following
functions

function GetParent()
{
if (parent.Fusion) {
return parent;
} else if (parent.parent.Fusion) {
return parent.parent;
}
   return null;
}

function GetMySessionID() {

 var myparams = GetParent().test();
 alert(myparams);
}

Brian, thanks but I'm not sure you understood what I meant. I need to
get the
session ID, etc that has already been established by Fusion, at the
client
side.

With the AJAX viewer, using InvokeURL my aspx page is called and the
JavaScript loads and calls the GetSessionId() and GetMapName() methods
of
the MapFrame object to get the values client side. I need the equivalent
from Fusion but it doesn't seem to be readily accessible.

Once I have got those parameters client side, I'm fine.

Keith

What is the easiest way to hook .NET based App development into Fusion?
I
have an application that uses the web API in C# and I'd like to make
this
available in a flexible layout. I don't wish to rewrite the App in PHP.
I do
need to extract some parameters from the client side to send to the
server,
such as session ID, map name and web agent url, but it's not clear how
to do
this.

The MgSelection::GenerateFilter returns always 20 IDs.
Is there a way to increase this ?
I've found an option in the serverconfig.ini file

SelectionFilterSize

Changing this value has no effet on the GenerateFilter fonction...

You can walk your point records in the order they were retrieved and
write them into a line string and write that into an SDF using the
various Geometry API, grouping by vehicle of course.

In autocad map you have to create the object data and attach it to the
features. Check the help for creating object data. It is pretty
straight forward once you know what you are doing.

Thanks Zac.
You said that the street layer tooltip is based on attributes chosen
from
the feature source. Looking with Maestro at the viewer example I see
what
you mean. Then now I need to create a feature source with attributes.
The
feature source I'm using is a SHP file exported from my DWG planimetry
with
Autocad Map. Importing it into MapGuide I can see that it has only 1
attribute: FeatId.

I saw that the viewer example uses a layer called "Parcels", which has
many
attributes. I need something similar, because on my planimetry I have
many
adiacents blocks, and for each of them I need to show a tooltip with
detail
informations (for example: Row number, Block number, Area code).

Have I create this blocks, with their detail informations, on Autocad
Map?
I tried importing the Parcel SDF file features source into Autocad Map,
and
I see that each block is a poliline. But I don't see any attribute, I
don't
know how to...

If you are using Fusion 1.1 then there should have been no substantial

If its not working then there is likely a bug. Can you describe a bit

thank you for your suggestion. I stored NMEA data with separate columns

Regarding DWG import, I'd like open source solutions, do you know
anything about? DWG is proprietary, but if I export to DXF is there any
open source solution to import it into MapGuide?

Hi Carmelo.

If you pre-process your NMEA data and extract lat/lon values
into columns, you
can use the ODBC provider and make points of the columns.
I would suggest some kind of service that regularly does this on
the MySql server.

Since DWG is a proprietary format, you can't do it with open
source tools.
Autodesk MapGuide Studio can import a DWG for you, and it is
fairly inexpensive.

Does this sample work for you?

C:\Program

The Fusion Layout is basically the ApplicationDefinition.XML file and
that is called by the html or aspx page in the directory.

If you are using a template you can edit the template files as well.

Is there anything special that needs to be done to allow a fusion layout
to be embedded in an html or aspx page? The layout loads, but commands
like select within and things always generate a

'Fusion' is null or not an object error.

I'm guessing it has to be a scope problem or frame reference type of
issue. With the Net consoles enabled in firebug the failure occurs in
the fusion/Mapguide/php/Selection.php script

var map = GetParent().Fusion.getMapByName(mapName);

Any ideas?

You need to copy the dll's from the mapviewernet bin directory to the bin
directory of your site.

I am having a .NET related error when trying to load the .NET ajax viewer
sample...

It is a rudimentary error. I can not load the namespace OSGeo.MapGuide. Does
this mean I need to reinstall MapGuide or have I missed an additional step? I
believe I installed both MapGuide and WebServerExtensions and am also under the
impression I selected the .NET part of the configuration during install..

You are most likely using IE, which has renamed the Sheboygan.mgp file til
Sheboygan.zip.
Rename it back, and you can load it.

Nelson Soto skrev:

Ok, so at the risk of sounding a bit naïve, I am at the point where I have
dropped the Sheboygan Sample Data in the folder "Packages" in the Server
install directory. When logged into the Admin Site however, it does not list
any packages as being present to load.

I am using IIS 5.1, which I have read may pose issues down the line with a
maximum connection limit (although I think I can circumvent that...).

The package path in the configuration is 'C:/Program
Files/MapGuideOpenSource2.0/Server/Packages/' which is the correct path. Has
anyone ever run into a similar situation?

[mapguide-users] Accessing the Task Frame / Selection changed | Fusion

Hello all,

I am trying to access the task frame when a selection is made...I can
hook to the select widget but I really have no idea how to access the
task frame from javascript... (if I wanted to perform a _postback in
Javascript on it or update values.)

Any help appreciated!

I did not port the php code, I did not have a reason too. You are able
to access the Mapguide API with fusion in .NET just as you would via the
AJAX Viewer via the Task Pane.

[mapguide-users] GetParameters - Page Refresh - MapName

2008-09-24 Thread Berdel, Brian
Using this function works great unless there is a page refresh...If a
user Refreshes the page the parameters are empty, and if you hold them
in session state after originally retrieving them they are actually
wrong...because the Map Name (in fusion) actually changes when
Refreshing the page...Anyone have any ideas on this?

NameValueCollection GetParameters()

{

return Request.HttpMethod == "GET" ? Request.QueryString :
Request.Form;

}

andhave data

I Went through and Used the Plot to DWF code "EPLOT.PHP" to create DWF
output.
My DWF opens just fineHowever a few Odd things in their
behaviourIt
only allows me to have one layer that is selectable for getting Object
Properties from.

In my map I have PLSS/Section corners that are selectable and Data is
Displayable in the AJAX viewer, same With my Parcels Layer...When i
publish
to DWF only the Top most (PLSS corners) layer is ever published as
selectable and having Object Properties on it...I moved the Parcels to
the
top then they worked and the PLSS corners didnt, even with only the PLSS
corners layer on.

So I did an advanced search on The PLSS corners by an ID and Voila its
in
the DWF, but when i click on the Object hyperlink it wont zoom to that
feature, i do an advanced search on parcels and the Hyperlink works...Is
this a bug in the $mappingService->GeneratePlot Code?

you shouldn't need to move your php.ini file from the php folder under
WebServerExtensions
remove all other copies of php.ini you may have on the system.

you can create a file in the mapviewer folder and give it a .php
extension
and inside type:

save and then navigate to this page in a browser and it will give you
the
php configuration settings.

"Loaded Configuration File" should be set to the php folder under
WebServerExtensions

And the latest trunk does fix that issue! Just be careful if you use
setSelection with the latest version...you have to update some of the
code for it to work. It is documented here

Thanks Jason - I guess that's not so hard! I'll give it a shot...thanks

Hi Andrew,

While I believe that it would be possible to set up nightly builds for
Fusion, it would be more work for you to deal with these than with SVN.
It might look daunting, but SVN is really easy to work with:

- install TortoiseSVN (http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads)

- rename your existing fusion directory to fusion_old

- create a new empty fusion directory

- right-click on the new fusion directory and

  - choose SVN Checkout

  - enter http://svn.osgeo.org/fusion/trunk/ into the URL field

  - click on OK (or something like that)

- copy all of the contents of

  - fusion_old/templates/mapguideto

  - fusion/templates/mapguide

That should just work, and now any time you want to update to the latest
build, you can right-click on the fusion directory and say "SVN Update".
You don't ever need to re-copy the templates, and for the cost of these
few extra steps staying on top of trunk is now a single-click effort.
If you need to go back to the original fusion for some reason, you can
just rename the directories back with no ill effects.

If you do go down this path, I think someone mentioned on the Fusion
list that you might need to add application/json to the MIME types if
you're running Windows Server 2003 with IIS.

That and the SVN are simply too much extra work for those of us just
interested in testing stuff. The SVN for Fusion has so many files and
folders, it's not possible for someone to just 'know' where to put stuff
on their system to make it work. A zip file would be nice, like on the
GetIt page.Why can't the build scripts be automated to build stuff
every night/week and then put it somewhere? That seems like a pretty
simple thing to do, provided we have access to a server somewhere.

Did you use the bundled PHP package or one that you downloaded?
If you haveother PHP versions set up, you may need to remove them to
keep
MapGuide from getting confused.

RE: [mapguide-users] Fusion map insists on refreshing map on selection, and clear selection...

2008-06-09 Thread Berdel, Brian
Here is a recent post on this.

v1.1 of Fusion will incorporate v2.6 of OpenLayers which should eliminate this
problem and also gives us smooth transition effects for zoom and panning. This
has already been added to the trunk version of fusion.

RE: [mapguide-users] Layer Control | fusion

2008-06-09 Thread Berdel, Brian
It is possible, there is a show function in the fusion library.

var mapWidget = Fusion.getWidgetById('Map');
var layer = mapWidget.aMaps[0].getLayerByName('Parcels');
layer.show();

Actually, that's not quite true - an API to control layer and group
visibility via the Map object does exist on the client side but I'm
not sure how easy it is to use - right now, the legend widget uses it.

This has the SetSelectionXML Function in it and it also automatically zooms and
refreshes the map once called. Place this javascript in your task frame page.

The one issue I did run into is that when grabbing the selectionXML

selectionXML = selection.ToXml();

the XML was incorrect...For the layername it was bringing in only the second
part of the layer name (i.e. Parcels instead of Default:Parcels) which was
giving an error in fusion when setting the selection. For right now, I am
just replacing the string after calling selection.ToXML

But it does not seem to be tiling anything unless they are all placed in
base layer group and I set that parameter to false. Is that how it is
supposed to work? If so, that is fine, I just want to understand the
functionality.

Either way, the username and password comes up for every tile it
creates.

Thanks,

single tile means render on demand, you need to put them into a tiled
map to
get a cached result

Has anyone else tried setting the SingleTile Parameter for a map to
false

After doing so and then trying to load the map, it asks me for my
password for everytile, then loads primarily blank tiles...

Thanks,
